February Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

Another great reading month for me! I can’t believe I’ve started off this year doing so well with my reading. Usually I have at least hit one or two reading slumps by this time but that hasn’t been the case so far! I think it may be due to the fact that I’ve gone back to posting regularly on my bookstagram account, as well as joining a couple of Instagram groups that have helped keep me motivated. Makes me so happy to be having such a successful reading year so far!

Did you get a lot of reading done in February? Were you able to read all of the books on your TBR? Did you read any new favorites? What book did you like the least? What do you plan on reading in March?

November/December Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

My reading life in 2019 didn’t end on as great of a note as I was hoping for. I have struggled the past few months with being able to sit down and concentrate on reading for long periods of time. I can’t determine if this is a side effect of work having been extremely stressful or what, but I really hope it doesn’t continue into this year. I want 2020 to be a great year for reading. With that being said, I did still get to read some really good books over the past couple of months which is always nice!

October Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

I think October was one of the most intense and stressful times at work. I was struggling to get everything done and would go home a lot of nights completely dead. It really affected my reading habits. Instead of going home to read like I would normally do, I would go home and binge some trash tv for a few hours. I just needed to be able to turn my brain off. However, I think the worst is now behind us and I’m really hoping that I can finish off the year strong. So I apologize for the lack of posts and reading updates over the last month. Don’t count me out yet, y’all! 🙂

September Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

Y’all, I am happy to announce that I was finally able to bust through my reading slump in September! I’m so glad I was able to pick up some books that were able to pull me out of my slump and get back to truly enjoying reading. I may not be hitting double digits quite yet, but I’m still proud of the progress that I’m making. If you’re like me and struggle with reading slumps from time to time, I recommend a good binge of a sitcom or newly released show (my current go-to’s are The Mindy Project, New Girl, and The Boys). I also recommend trying a book outside of your normal genre! But with that being said, I see myself finishing out the rest of year really strong and am excited for the books I have on my October TBR!

August Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

I’m just going to go ahead and apologize to everyone for my shitty reading habits this summer. I’ve been struggling with being able to focus long enough to actually make progress with what I’m reading. It’s taking me far too long to finish a book and I want to bang my head against the wall. Seriously… this is annoying. With that being said, I do have a lot of faith in things turning around for me during September because fall is my favorite and I find myself wanting to cuddle up with a book more often. I just know that once I finish my current read, I’ll find a book that will just completely suck me in. Did anyone else struggle with reading this summer, or was it just me?

July Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

Finally July is over and we get to move on to August. One step closer to my favorite time of year.. FALL! However, we still must get through this summer time heat for just a bit longer. And I absolutely hate the heat.

Unfortunately, July was not a solid reading month for me. I was in the middle of the Iron-Tome-A-Thon and came to the realization that the reason for my lack of enthusiasm for the books I was reading, was that I’m in a bit of fantasy slump. Great timing, eh? However, I plan to set aside fantasy for the next month and I feel like that may be the perfect way to get back into reading.

June Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

I will admit that this wasn’t my greatest month of reading because instead of just focusing on one book at a time, I was bouncing around multiple books. Now this isn’t a normal reading pattern for me. I’ve only just started doing this and I have no idea how I got to this place, but here I am. Ha! Anyways, I still really enjoyed the few books that I finished in June and plan to really focus on my reading for Iron Tome-A-Thon in July.

I don’t know why summer is usually the season where the majority of people read a hell of a lot, and then there’s me who struggles with it. I feel like I really get into watching movies or bingeing tv shows during the summer. But maybe I’ll get out of this phase soon? Eh, probably not.

May Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

Yes another month has come and gone extremely fast. I had a bit of a busy time during May, while also going through a bit of a blogging slump. I just have been reading a lot slower lately, as well as lacking in great blog post ideas (not to mention my constant lack of motivation to write any reviews). However, I really hope June will be a good month to try and revive that creative flow and motivation. I plan to watch a lot of booktube and do some blog hopping, as well as some personal weekend read-a-thons. Let’s get to reading this summer, y’all!

April Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

Another month is gone… Y’all, summer is basically here and I’m not really sure I’m ready for it. I hate the heat unless I’m on a beach. But am I at the beach? No, I’m sitting at work and it blows.

But hey, at least there’s only 5 more months until the Halloween season! Am I right or am I right?!

March Wrap-Up: Reviews, Reading Challenges, etc.

I had another great reading month in March. I think was really helped by the fact that I went on an audiobook binge this month. I think I might be the only person who didn’t know you can return books on Audible after you listened to them and receive the credit for it. I made like 6 exchanges as soon as I found it, getting rid of books that I didn’t finish or didn’t like enough to want to listen to again. Y’all, this a game changer for me! I always hate waiting an entire month to receive a new credit. I’m an impatient person… Oops?
