Welcome to WWW Wednesday which is currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s really just a place to do little update on what all you’ve been reading lately. Anyone is welcome to join, just leave a link to your post in the comments and be sure to give the appropriate credit to Sam!

Currently Reading

  • The Song Rising (The Bone Season, #3) by Samantha Shannon – audiobook, reread
  • Cazadora (Lobizona, #2) by Romina Garber – ebook

I haven’t been listening to Song Rising. It’s been sat to the side in favor of some podcasts instead, specifically reality tv related podcasts. Haha! But I should get back to it soon… Hopefully.

I’ve picked Cazadora back up after sitting it aside for a few days. It’s going pretty good so far but it’s just now really hit an interesting plot line. This is such an interesting series and the story is super unique. I don’t see it getting mentioned, but I wish it would!

What did you recently finish reading?

  • The Big Reveal by Jen Larsen – ARC
  • Abaddon’s Gate (The Expanse, #3) by James S.A. Corey – physical book
  • All the Feels (Spoiler Alert, #2) by Olivia Dade – ARC

Of course I absolutely loved Abaddon’s Gate. That series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I also really enjoyed The Big Reveal. I loved the empowering feminist and body positivity message. It definitely did it much better than other books, I think. Which may be why All the Feels really fell short for me. I’ll dive more into it soon with a full review. But for now, just know it wasn’t my favorite.

What do you think you’ll read next?

  • Tsarina by Ellen Alpsten – ARC
  • A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw – ARC
  • Just River by Sara B. Fraser – ARC

What are you currently reading? What books did you finish this week? What are you planning on reading next? Have you read any of the books on my list? If so, what did you think of them? Leave a link to your WWW Wednesday post in the comments below!

  • Middlemarch by George Eliot – physical book
  • The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson- physical book

After a slow start to picking up the book, I am finally making some progress in The Summer Before the War. Y’all, I think this may become a new favorite novel. I love the writing style and all of the characters are so interesting. I can’t wait to see how this story will unfold.

I also put aside the podcasts yesterday and finally made some more progress in Morning Star. Things are really about to start getting interesting in that story. I can’t believe how much I’ve actually forgotten in this book.

No further progress in my non-fiction and classic books. I’m hoping to set aside some time this week to read a few chapters in each.

What did you recently finish reading?

Nothing this week.

Books That I Hope to Read This Fall

It’s now officially my favorite time of the year! I love when the leaves begin to change, the air begins to feel crisp and clean, and football season is in full swing! I’m going to brag for a moment and point out that my alma mater, TCU, is now currently ranked 9th in the nation! Sorry, just really proud of my Frogs after last season!

Anywho…. Now that I’m officially out of my reading slump, I’ve been thinking about what I want to read over the next couple of months before 2018 arrives. I think I’ve pretty much got a set TBR for October, but there are so many books that have sparked my interest lately when I’ve been looking at my TBR bookshelf at home. So I decided to come up with some books that I really hope to get to at some point this fall!

33956433

City of Saints & Thieves by Natalie C. Anderson

This YA murder mystery set in Kenya sounds like the perfect novel to curl up with on a cold fall night. I’ve heard great things about this book too, so I can’t wait to dive into it!

30237061

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

I don’t know why, but I always associate circuses and carnivals with the fall season. Maybe it’s because the Texas State Fair is in the fall? Who knows. But either way, I think this is the perfect time to pick this book up.

31423196.jpg

Defy the Stars (Constellation, #1) by Claudia Gray

Okay, basically I’m just really on a Claudia Gray kick right now and am dying to start on her newest book. It doesn’t hurt that I’m kind of obsessed with the cover too. You can’t tell me that it doesn’t look extremely badass, because it totally is!

18712886

The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1) by Erika Johansen

I own this entire trilogy but have unfortunately kept pushing it aside in favor of other books. However, I’m really feeling the urge to finally pick it up. I’m almost positive I’ll end up loving it once I do, too.

51MM2QbUlsL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen, #1) by Alison Goodman

A novel about a monster hunter set in Regency England? Ummmm, yes please. And shame on me for owning this book ever since it first came out and not reading it sooner. Oops!

5912437

Ross Poldark (The Poldark Saga, #1)  by Winston Graham

I absolutely love the television show, so why have I been putting off starting the book series? That’s a really good question and one that I don’t have an answer for. However, I always enjoy reading historical fiction during the fall and winter, so now seems like the right time to start!

31450852

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6) by Sarah J. Maas

I cannot stand Chaol anymore as a character. I think he was being incredibly ridiculous towards Aelin, but I’m going to try and let him redeem himself in this book. It’s his time to shine, I guess. DON’T FUCK IT UP, CHAOL.

2287468

The Last Wish (The Witcher Saga, #1) by Andrzej Sapkowski

Oh yes, I do plan on finally starting on this glorious series that the award-winning video games are based on. Fall calls for epic fantasy, and it doesn’t get much more epic than this. Also, Netflix is currently developing a tv series on the books! Yayyyyy!!!

11235712

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer

I first read this book right after it was released and then never made it through the rest of the series. I really want to reread this one soon and then continue through the series. I’ve heard it gets better with each book and that always excites me!

30319086

If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio

Creepy murder mystery along the same lines as The Secret History? Oh yes, definitely perfect for reading curled up with a nice hot cup of tea during the fall. I can definitely see myself picking this one up over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

What books are you wanting to read this fall? Is there a certain genre or type that you prefer to read at this time of year? Have you read any of the books on my TBR? If so, what did you think of them?

WWW Wednesday – August 30th, 2017

The Three W’s are:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

  • Heartless by Marissa Meyer
  • Parker by Jillian Quinn
  • Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) Leigh Bardugo

Still going through a bit of a reading slump, but I did read over 100 pages in Heartless last night and can’t wait for my lunch break to get back into it. I’ve kind of put aside Crooked Kingdom at the moment because I’m pretty sure it’s what put me into the slump in the first place. Uh oh, controversial opinion time!… It’s boring. Sorry to everyone who is just obsessed with this book but I’m not particularly enjoying it at the moment.

What did you recently finish reading?

Nothing….. yet again.

What do you think you’ll read next?

  • American Fire by Monica Hesse
  • Hunted by Meagan Spooner

Going to dive into some non-fiction with American Fire next. It’s been a while since I’ve read any and this book sounds so intriguing. I’ve been terrible about reading the books I’ve received from Book of the Month Club, so this will be my push to finally get into those. Due to my reading slump, I didn’t read either Hype or Like Friday August BOTM choices and so I’m going to finish the second one. Fingers crossed!

2017 Book Haul: 1st Half (My wallet hates me.)

I realized this weekend that I haven’t posted a book haul since probably December. Well, I think it’s time to remedy that. I spend way too much money on my books and no one appreciates that as much all of you, my book blogging friends! With that being said, I’ve spent so much money already this year and then I just laugh when I think of all of the amazing releases coming out in the next six months. FINE, TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY AND GIVE ME THE BOOKS!

But seriously, give me all of the books.

What books have you bought recently? Have you read any of the ones on my list? What did you think of them?

Book Review: Revenge and the Wild

When I snagged a copy of this book from BookOutlet, I honestly didn’t know anything about it. I hadn’t seen any reviews or heard anyone really mention it and I was really surprised as this was a newly released debut. The synopsis just immediately hooked my attention and the cover was just so pretty (yes, I buy books based on covers!). However, I am soooooo glad that I took a chance on Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto, because it has become one of my all-time favorites.

The two-bit town of Rogue City is a lawless place, full of dark magic and saloon brawls, monsters and six-shooters. But it’s perfect for seventeen-year-old Westie, the notorious adopted daughter of local inventor Nigel Butler.

Westie was only a child when she lost her arm and her family to cannibals on the wagon trail. Nine years later, Westie may seem fearsome with her foul-mouthed tough exterior and the powerful mechanical arm built for her by Nigel, but the memory of her past still haunts her. She’s determined to make the killers pay for their crimes—and there’s nothing to stop her except her own reckless ways.

But Westie’s search ceases when a wealthy family comes to town looking to invest in Nigel’s latest invention, a machine that can harvest magic from gold—which Rogue City desperately needs as the magic wards that surround the city start to fail. There’s only one problem: the investors look exactly like the family who murdered Westie’s kin. With the help of Nigel’s handsome but scarred young assistant, Alistair, Westie sets out to prove their guilt. But if she’s not careful, her desire for revenge could cost her the family she has now.

This thrilling novel is a remarkable tale of danger and discovery, from debut author Michelle Modesto.

The Good

  • Badass Characters – Is it silly to say that I loved them all? It is? Well I don’t care because I did! This was a very diverse group of cast and they were all so incredibly interesting and unique. It was very easy to differentiate one from the other, which I really appreciated that Modesto was able to do. Westie is the absolute most badass MC. She’s a foul-mouthed wild child, who doesn’t take shit from anyone. I loved that she had so much depth as a character, especially one part about her that I wasn’t expecting but really added an interesting element to the story. She also had a humorous side to her, even though it was mostly from doing things she isn’t supposed to be doing. There is one part where she talked about doing peyote that killed me, hahahaha! Honestly, I just want more stories about Westie, seriously. IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN! And as wonderful as Alley is, my true love is Costin. I would honestly love a book just about his life as a vampire. He’s everything you want in a bad boy character. I lived for the scenes when he would show up.
  • Revenge Plot – Come on, admit it. You love a good revenge plot! Or maybe that’s just me? I cannot get enough of them. I love to see characters walk the line between justice and revenge, and not always making the right decisions. This novel is a perfect example of that. There’s lots of blood, fighting, cussing, and killing all going on, basically your typical dirty Western town but with fantasy creatures! I also loved the different twists that Modesto threw in the book here and there. I never knew what was going to happen next.
  • Pacing – This book is one of the few that I never found myself bored at any time. I was constantly engaged in the story.  The pacing was steady all the way from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. It’s just a fun read from start to finish!

The Bad

  • NOTHING! – Really, my only complaint is that this book is a standalone and there’s no more stories following Westie. I need more and I don’t have any!!!! 😦

Just read this book. Enjoy it, love it, fangirl over it with me. It’s still available on BookOutlet in hardback for only $6.99, so I’m not really sure why you’re still reading this post and not over there buying it. DO IT.

Final Verdict: 5/5 Stars

Have you read Revenge and the Wild? What did you think of it? Are you interested in reading it now?

Subscription Box Review: December Owlcrate, Book Boyfriend, and FairyLoot

Sorry for the late posts with this one, because I’m sure that by now y’all have already seen all of the unboxings. However, I’m gonna do it anyways… so ha! I’ve also decided to combine all of my unboxings into one post. For December I received 3 boxes – Owlcrate, Book Boyfriend, and FairyLoot!

Book Boyfriend

Book Boyfriend Box is a U.S. based bi-monthly subscription box. Each box will include a newly released hardcover book and a few other bookish items that are curated around a specific theme. One or more subscribers will also receive a bonus item with each box, which are selected at random. Boxes start at $29.99 per month.

The December theme was Love Letters and inspired by all of the amazing men from Jane Austen’s novels.

fullsizeoutput_ca1.jpeg

  • Quill Pen – I wasn’t sure at first if I would like this pen as it looked heavy, but I pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn’t! I’ve already used this pen a few times and I love it!
  • Notepad – Who doesn’t love Captain Wentworth? I love this notepad designed by Drop and Give Me Nerdy, with it’s beautiful Austen quote. It’s the perfect size to carry around with you without weighing down your purse/bag. So pretty!
  • Loose Tea – This is a Pride and Prejudice  herbal tea blend from First Edition Tea Co.. Y’all should know by now that I’m the BIGGEST tea drinker. I’m not a real fan of coffee but hot tea is the love of my life. I’m so excited to try this blend because it smells divine.
  • Coaster – I’m kind of obsessed with this coaster from Favoring Brave  that is made from upcycled pages of Persuasion. Like how cool is that?! It will go perfectly with my cup of tea actually!
  • Soap – Okay, this soap made of goat’s milk is from The MacBath and smells AMAZING. It’s also insanely cute with a quote from Pride and Prejudice printed into it. I’ve actually already used it all up now – that’s how much I loved it.
  • Hardcover Book – The book in this month’s box was We Are Still Tornadoes by Michael Kun and Susan Mullen. I really appreciated that they chose a book that wasn’t super hyped like most boxes tend to stick with. I haven’t heard anything about this book yet but the synopsis sounds sooo good. I also love that it included some bookish swag, including a music playlist to listen to while you read it! If you love books written in letter form, the 80’s, and great music references then you’ll probably enjoy this cute love story.

It’s the summer of 1982, and for Scott and Cath, everything is about to change.

Growing up across the street from each other, Scott and Cath have been best friends for most of their lives. Now they’ve graduated high school, and Cath is off to college while Scott stays at home trying to get his band off the ground. Neither of them realized that their first year after high school would be so hard.

Fortunately, Scott and Cath still have each other, and it’s through their letters that they survive heartache, annoying roommates, family dramas, and the pressure of figuring out what to do with the rest of their lives. And through it all, they realize that the only person they’ve ever wanted to turn to is each other. But does that mean they should think about being more than friends? One thing is clear: Change is an inescapable part of growing up, and we share unbreakable bonds with the friends who help us navigate it.

For my first box from Book Boyfriend, I was pleasantly surprised and am really excited for this month’s box to arrive. The theme for February is Out of This World and is perfect for fans of Red Rising, The Lunar Chronicles, and Star Wars!

Owlcrate

Owlcrate is a monthly bookish subscription box that includes one new release YA hardback novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items. Each month revolves around a different theme that ties in with the book and goodies. It is also one of the few boxes that ships almost anywhere in the world. Subscriptions start at $29.99 per month.

The theme for December was Epic was curated around epic adventure fantasy books.

  • Funko Mini – 12 different mystery mini vinyl Funko! collectibles from Harry Potter were sent out in this month’s boxes. I received the always adorable and appropriate for bookworms, Hermione. She’s just too cute and is already gracing my bookshelf right now!
  • Pin – This really gorgeous enamel Lord of the Rings was created by Ideal Bookshelf. I’m a huge LOTR fan so I was pretty excited about this pin. I also got a really cool canvas duffle bag for Christmas that this will look perfect on.
  • Coasters – Okay, I’m kind of in love with these house sigils from Game of Thrones. There is a coaster for Houses Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, and Targaryen. Basically all of the main players are present and accounted for. I would’ve liked to have seen House Tyrell in there too, but I really can’t complain either way. Dark Horse Comics did a great job with these for sure.
  • Sticker – This crazy beautiful quote sticker from A Darker Shade of Magic was created by Miss Phi. I’m so glad to add this one to my sticker collection, as it’s one of my all-time favorite book quotes!
  • Greeting Card – The Chronicles of Narnia is such a classic and I think this exclusive design from Susanne Draws, captures the beauty and whimsical nature of it perfectly.  It’s so pretty that I don’t think I’ll be able to send it to someone but will probably end up hanging it on my wall instead. Oops!
  • Hardcover Book – This month’s book is a diverse fantasy read that includes an LGTBQA romance, Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst. I’ve heard some good things about this one so I hope it lives up to the hype!

Betrothed since childhood to the prince of Mynaria, Princess Dennaleia has always known what her future holds. Her marriage will seal the alliance between Mynaria and her homeland, protecting her people from other hostile lands. But Denna has a secret. She possesses an Affinity for fire—a dangerous gift for the future queen of a kingdom where magic is forbidden.

Now, Denna must learn the ways of her new home while trying to hide her growing magic. To make matters worse, she must learn to ride Mynaria’s formidable warhorses—and her teacher is the person who intimidates her most, the prickly and unconventional Princess Amaranthine—called Mare—the sister of her betrothed.

When a shocking assassination leaves the kingdom reeling, Mare and Denna reluctantly join forces to search for the culprit. As the two become closer, Mare is surprised by Denna’s intelligence and bravery, while Denna is drawn to Mare’s independent streak. And soon their friendship is threatening to blossom into something more.

But with dangerous conflict brewing that makes the alliance more important than ever, acting on their feelings could be deadly. Forced to choose between their duty and their hearts, Mare and Denna must find a way to save their kingdoms—and each other.

The February theme is Run Away with the Circus!

FairyLoot

FairyLoot is a London-based monthly subscription box. It focuses exclusively on fantasy/science fiction YA novels. Each month will include a brand new release and 4-6 other bookish goodies as well. Subscriptions start at £26 + shipping.

The December theme was Sci-fi Adventure and was curated around some science fiction favorites.

IMG_9203.JPG

  • Pop Funko! – It’s a Stormtrooper vinyl character… Obviously I love it!
  • Bath Powder – This kryptonite bath powder was created by Geeky Clean, and smells like you just stepped into a bath full of cupcakes. I’ve already used some and laughed so hard when I saw that it turned my water completely green. Soooo fun!
  • Socks – These galaxy socks were created exclusively by FairyLoot and are so pretty. They’re also really silky and of good quality. They didn’t bleed either when I washed them, so that’s always very appreciated!
  • Bookmark – This beautiful watercolor bookmark was exclusively designed by LexyOlivia for this FairyLoot box. It’s a quote from The Starbound Trilogy by Amie Kaufman. I actually own the first book in this trilogy but haven’t read it yet. I plan to rectify that this year though!
  • Lunar Chronicles Art Print & Red Rising Buttons – Both of these were designed and created exclusively by Taratjah. I’m soooooo obsessed with both of these. I’ve always loved seeing her creations in boxes and all over bookstagram, and now I get to have a piece. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of her designs in the future.
  • Bonus Prints: Red Rising and The Long War to a Small, Angry Planet – Both of these art prints were added bonuses to this box and I love them both so much! I’m kind of a sucker for art prints, and being a Howler too, that Red Rising one is totally speaking to me. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
  • Hardcover Book – The book featured in this month’s box was Flashfall (Flashfall #1) by Jenny Moyer. This science fiction novel is the first in a planned duology and is giving me serious Red Rising vibes which I’m all about. I can’t wait to pick it up and experience it for myself!

Orion is a Subpar, expected to mine the tunnels of Outpost Five, near the deadly flash curtain. For generations, her people have chased cirium—the only element that can shield humanity from the curtain’s radioactive particles. She and her caving partner, Dram work the most treacherous tunnel, fighting past flash bats and tunnel gulls, in hopes of mining enough cirium to earn their way into the protected city.

But when newcomers arrive at Outpost Five, Orion uncovers disturbing revelations that make her question everything she thought she knew about life on both sides of the cirium shield. As conditions at the outpost grow increasingly dangerous, it’s up to Orion to forge a way past the flashfall, beyond all boundaries, beyond the world as she knows it.

The February theme is Emperors and Fugitives!

What did you think of the December boxes? What are some other subscription boxes do you subscribe to or recommend? Have you read any of the books that came in the boxes? What did you think of them?

Book Review: The Weight of Feathers

Magical realism and I don’t particularly get along very well. Basically, I just don’t understand it. Is the magic real? Is it symbolism? Is it in the character’s head? I don’t know! However, I decided to try it again with The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore.

For twenty years, the Palomas and the Corbeaus have been rivals and enemies, locked in an escalating feud for over a generation. Both families make their living as traveling performers in competing shows—the Palomas swimming in mermaid exhibitions, the Corbeaus, former tightrope walkers, performing in the tallest trees they can find.

Lace Paloma may be new to her family’s show, but she knows as well as anyone that the Corbeaus are pure magia negra, black magic from the devil himself. Simply touching one could mean death, and she’s been taught from birth to keep away. But when disaster strikes the small town where both families are performing, it’s a Corbeau boy, Cluck, who saves Lace’s life. And his touch immerses her in the world of the Corbeaus, where falling for him could turn his own family against him, and one misstep can be just as dangerous on the ground as it is in the trees.

The Good

  • The Writing (holy moly!) – Seriously, it’s just really good. McLemore has the ability to write so fluidly, but at the same time able to completely bring to the story to life. I had no trouble being able to picture the characters and the setting in my mind. I had heard great things about her writing and they were all true!
  • My Adorable Little Characters – I adored all of the characters in this book. Lace was so sweet and kind. I loved watching her interact with her family and try to become the best mermaid. It was endearing how much she wanted to win the approval of her family. And Cluck…. I loved how he chose to wore his Grandfather’s clothes from when he was young, trying to be just like him. He was different and unique, with just a touch of mystery about him. It also broke my heart to see the way his family treated him for no good reason. I will never understand how people can be so terrible. I swear, if someone treated me like that, they’d get their ass kicked – family or not.
  • A Better Romeo & Juliet – I’ve never been the biggest fan or Romeo and Julet, mostly because they do some of the most irritatingly ridiculous things ever. However, I’ve always enjoyed modern retellings of their story. Writers are able to take the main parts of that story and turn them into something better than the original. Yes, the characters still make completely stupid decisions but usually to a lesser degree (which doesn’t usually end in death!). And here, McLemore was able to completely retell this story into such a unique setting. It was magical, it was whimsical, and completely engrossing. Honestly, I think circuses just make awesome settings for novels. Right?!

janice & darrenare having a baby boy!please join us for a shower.png

The Bad

  • Family Portrayal – While I get that this is a retelling of Romeo & Juliet, I just didn’t really like the way the Paloma and Corbeau families were portrayed. I think families in general aren’t portrayed very well in YA for the most part. They tend to be nonexistent, awful, uncaring, etc. And this is just another example of that. I understand that not every family is perfect in reality, but I do feel that that type is wayyyy overrepresented in YA. I get so happy when I come across a book that has a close-knit or loving family. And eriously, I shouldn’t have to get all excited about that!

Overall, I loved this book. I loved the characters, the story, the writing, all of it. Do I wish the families had been a bit nicer? Yes, I do. However, I was kind of expecting that based on the synopsis and everything. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy a novel with magical realism. I’m not sure if I will start to pick this genre up more often, as I still don’t know if it’s real or not, but I do think I will be less likely to pass one over. I’ve already got my eye on McLemore’s more recent releases!

Final Verdict: 5/5 Stars

Have you read The Weight of Feathers? What did you think of the book? Do you enjoy magical realism novels? Can you please tell me if the magic is real not? HAHA!

WWW Wednesday – January 18th, 2017

Welcome to WWW Wednesday which is currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s really just a place to do little update on what all you’ve been reading lately. Anyone is welcome to join, just leave a link to your post in the comments and be sure to give the appropriate credit to Sam!

The Three W’s are:

What are you currently reading?

I’m technically about 30 pages from finishing The Architect of Song, but I accidentally left it at my aunt’s house this past weekend so I won’t be able to finish it for a couple of weeks. I will say that it’s wonderful and is a beautiful ode to the Gothic romances of the 1800’s. I honestly don’t think that Howard can write a bad book.

I’m really getting into The Weight of Feathers. In the past I’ve shied away from magical realism because, well, I just don’t really get it. Is it real? Is the magic just fantasized by the characters? I DON’T KNOW!!! Just give me straight up fantasy so I know that the magic is real. However, this book just sounded really interesting to me so I decided to try it out. So far, so good! I’m loving the characters and the storyline itself. It’s very whimsical and unique. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here! (But yes, I am still confused as to whether the magic is real or not!)

What did you recently finish reading?

I haven’t finished anything since last week. I would’ve finished that darn Architect of Song had I not left it. But what can you do, eh?

What do you think you’ll read next?

These are the lovely books that I’ll be finishing up the month of January with (which also happens to be my birthday month, too *hint hint*). I’ve heard good things about all of them, so I’m really looking forward to picking them up. The Serpent King is the January BOTM for Hype or Like Friday, so please join us in reading this emotionally beautiful read!

The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore

Now she knew why Justin said so little about the show. He didn’t want to admit how beautiful their enemies looked as they danced. When one of the men lifted one of the women, the wind turned her skirt to water. When he set her down, she landed so softly the branches didn’t bend.

I’m only a few pages into this story so far, but I can tell you that it’s beautiful. The prose has a lyrical quality to it that just flows so easily. And the story itself is so unique and full of whimsy. I’m already in love and nothing has even happened yet. I can’t wait to read McLemore’s newest novel after seeing how wonderful her writing is. Gimme, gimme, gimme!
