Speechless by Dan & Shay

[Verse 1]
You say you’ll be down in five
The smell of your perfume is floating down the stairs
You’re fixing up your hair like you do
I know that I’ll be a mess
The second that I see you
You won’t be surprised
It happens every time
It’s nothin’ new

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s always on a night like tonight
I think you can read my mind
‘Cause when you look at me with those eyes

[Chorus]
I’m speechless
Starin’ at you standin’ there in that dress
What it’s doin’ to me ain’t a secret
‘Cause watching you is all that I can do
And I’m speechless
You already know that you’re my weakness
After all this time I’m just as nervous
Every time you walk into the room
I’m speechless

[Verse 2]
It started when you said hello
Just did something to me
And I’ve been in a daze
Ever since the day that we met
You take the breath out of my lungs
Can’t even fight it
And all of the words, out of my mouth without even tryin’

[Chorus]
And I’m speechless
Starin’ at you standin’ there in that dress
What it’s doin’ to me ain’t a secret
‘Cause watching you is all that I can do
And I’m speechless
You already know that you’re my weakness
After all this time I’m just as nervous
Every time you walk into the room
I’m speechless

[Bridge]
Yeah, baby, mmm
It’s always on a night like tonight
I think that you can read my mind
‘Cause when you look at me with those eyes

[Chorus]
I’m speechless
You standin’ there in that dress
Girl, it ain’t a secret
‘Cause watchin’ you is all that I can do
Oh, I’m speechless
You already know that you’re my weakness
After all this time I’m just as nervous
Every time you walk into the room
I’m speechless

[Outro]
Oh, you know it, baby

I’m a sucker for a good love song. Sue me.

Jesus Christ by Brand New

[Verse 1]
Jesus Christ, that’s a pretty face
The kind you’d find on someone that could save
If they don’t put me away
Well, it’ll be a miracle

Do you believe you’re missing out?
That everything good is happening somewhere else
With nobody in your bed
The night is hard to get through

[Chorus 1]
And I will die all alone
And when I arrive I won’t know anyone

[Verse 2]
Jesus Christ, I’m alone again
So what did you do those three days you were dead?
Because this problem is gonna last
More than the weekend

Jesus Christ, I’m not scared to die
But I’m a little bit scared of what comes after
Do I get the gold chariot
Do I float through the ceiling

[Chorus 2]
Or do I divide and pull apart
Cause my bright is too slight to hold back all my dark
This ship went down in sight of land
And at the gates does Thomas ask to see my hands?

[Bridge]
I know you’re coming in the night like a thief
But I’ve had some time, O Lord, to hone my lying technique
I know you think that I’m someone you can trust
But I’m scared I’ll get scared and I swear I’ll try to nail you back up
So do you think that we could work out a sign
So I’ll know it’s you and that it’s over so I won’t even try
I know you’re coming for the people like me
But we all got wood and nails
And we turn out hate in factories
We all got wood and nails
And we turn out hate in factories
We all got wood and nails
And we sleep inside of this machine

Flicker by Niall Horan

[Verse 1]
When you feel your love’s been taken
When you know there’s something missing
In the dark, we’re barely hangin’ on
Then you rest your head upon my chest
And you feel like there ain’t nothin’ left
I’m afraid that what we had is gone

[Chorus]
Then I think of the start
And it echoes a spark
And I remember the magic electricity
Then I look in my heart
There’s a light in the dark
Still a flicker of hope that you first gave to me
That I wanna keep
Please don’t leave
Please don’t leave

[Verse 2]
When you lay there and you’re sleepin’
Hear the patterns of your breathin’
And I tell you things you’ve never heard before
Asking questions to the ceilin’
Never knowing what you’re thinkin’
I’m afraid that what we had is gone

[Chorus]
Then I think of the start
And it echoes a spark
And I remember the magic electricity
Then I look in my heart
There’s a light in the dark
Still a flicker of hope that you first gave to me
That I wanna keep
Please don’t leave
Please don’t leave

[Bridge]
And I want this to pass
And I hope this won’t last
Last too long

[Chorus]
Then I think of the start
And it echoes a spark
And I remember the magic electricity
Then I look in my heart
There’s a light in the dark
Still a flicker of hope that you first gave to me
That I wanna keep
Please don’t leave
Please don’t leave

This song just gets me every single time. If you ever want me to get emotional, all you have to do is play this damn song. Also, totally saw him in concert last summer and it was probably one of the best experiences. It’s very chill and just has an intimate feeling to it, which is helped by how relaxing his music is. I highly recommend seeing him live if you ever get the chance!

What are some of your favorite lyrics? Have you seen Niall Horan in concert? What was the best concert experience that you’ve had?

Common Thoughts and Emotions of a Reader

As readers, we tend to go through lots of different emotional/mental stages. It’s pretty much expected that our books will take us down many winding paths. (It comes with the territory.) With that being said, here are a few thoughts and moments that almost every booknerd will have at least once, or if you’re like me, constantly.

1. The I’m-So-Excited-To-Start-This-Book Feeling

tumblr_oizh2rEtjC1v1z098o1_400

You know you’ve probably done this dance at least once when starting a book that you’ve been really excited about.

2. The Why-Would-The-Author-Do-This-To-Me Cry

tumblr_ojqyq1lvEu1rfd7lko1_500

Yeah, I think this was me while reading Crooked Kingdom… Like, really, Bardugo? Why you gotta do me like that?!

3. The It’s-Now-4AM-And-I-Have-To-Be-Awake-In-Two-Hours Binge Read Realization

tumblr_orzepk3ehP1qe8lb8o1_400

The nights are fun but the next day is most certainly not.

4. The I-Have-Six-Different-Subscription-Boxes-Coming-This-Month Guilt Trip

tumblr_p1vxc2ACJ71wzypxlo1_500

But does it matter as long as I really, really, really, really “needed” all of them?!

5. The I-Was-Sooooo-Excited-For-This-Book-But-Oh-My-God-I-Really-Don’t-Like-It Frustration Rant

tumblr_opsoynyH2C1w4o831o1_500.gif

Well, wasn’t that just a waste of my time. WHYYYYYYYYYY??!!!

6. The I-Really-Should-Buy-More-Books-Even-Though-I-Have-So-Many-Unread-On-My-Shelves-Already Moment

tumblr_o7hyjk844z1uo5sa6o1_500

I’m pretty sure this is why I’m always broke.

7. The Well-I-Now-Have-A-Crush-On-A-Fictional-Character-So-There’s-That Moment of Acceptance

tumblr_ohfeo54LDV1tb8iyko1_500.gif

“Yes, Grandma! I actually am involved with someone right now and no, you don’t know his family.”

8. The Favorite-Author-Is-Going-To-Make-An-Announcement-Today Anxious Waiting

tumblr_oh7k2qcisR1tkozpxo1_500.gif

If you’re not announcing the release date for the next book in the series then I don’t even want to hear it. IT’S BEEN 2 YEARS, DAMMIT!

 9. The I-Can’t-Believe-I-Have-To-Wait-Another-Year-To-Find-Out-What-Happens-Next Annoyance

tumblr_oe4nthVEdt1ufw8o4o1_500

Oh, goody. Another cliffhanger that won’t be answered any time soon… Thanks for that, jerk!

10. The Books-Are-Just-Really-The-Greatest-Thing-Ever Moment of Happiness

tumblr_p52p6fm4li1wxvtido1_r1_500.gif

More like a constant state of bliss, amirite?

Have you experienced all of the thoughts or emotions as a reader? What other moments have you had?

2017 End of the Year Reading Survey

It’s probably a little late in January to be going back to discuss 2017 reads, but I don’t care. I’m doing it anyway! I first saw this survey done by Caitrona @ LittleBookOwl and really enjoyed the different questions so I thought I’d take a shot at it.

Original survey was created by Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner.

2017 Reading Stats

  • Total Books Read: 89
  • Number of Re-Reads: 2
  • Genre You Read the Most From: Fantasy (always!)

Best In Books

Best Book You Read In 2017?

26061581

The Dark Days Pact (Lady Helen, #2) by Alison Goodman

I wish I could describe to everyone just how obsessed I’ve become with this series, but there are no words. Seriously, I love everything about it – the mystery, the Regency setting, the slow burn romance, ALL OF IT.

Honorable Mentions: Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2), The Serpent King, and Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #3)

Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?

34019862

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns (Rise of the Empress, #1) by Julie C. Dao

Yeah, if you read my review of this book then you’ll know how much of an intense hatred I hold for the main protagonist. Seriously, she’s awful. However, the author has confirmed that the sequel will follow a different character so I can get behind that.

Honorable Mentions: Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2), Windwitch (Witchlands, #2), and Bone Gap

Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

19547856

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

What surprised me most about this book was that I didn’t enjoy it as much everyone else seemed to. This is such a beloved book but I found it to only be mediocre. Maybe my expectations were too high? Also, Leah is a terrible person. That’s right, I said it! Why does everyone like her so much?!

Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

30763950

A Million Junes by Emily Henry

I literally recommend this book to everyone. Now I know a few of my friends have bought it but I don’t they’e read it yet. BUT THEY WILL!

Best series you started in 2017? Best Sequel of 2017? Best Series Ender of 2017?

Best Series Started – The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen, #1) by Alison Goodman

Best Sequel – The Mime Order (The Bone Season, #2) by Samantha Shannon

Best Series Ender – Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2) by Victoria Schwab

Favorite new author you discovered in 2017?

Theodora Goss, Alison Goodman, Jeff Zentner

Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

13623785

The Cutting Season by Attica Locke

I’m not one for mystery/thrillers, but I really did enjoy this book. I thought it was very well done and unique in the story it was trying to tell. I especially loved the truly atmospheric setting that Locke created.

Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

13206760

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer

Yup, everyone was right – this series is just so awesome. I’ve already got Cress on next month’s TBR, because I have to know what’s going to happen next with this wonderful cast of characters. Also, the snark is on point with this series, A+. I fully expect that to continue too!

Book You Read In 2017 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

I’m not really one for rereading books unless it’s for a refresher before a sequel gets released. But you never know!

Favorite cover of a book you read in 2017?

Most memorable character of 2017?

Abel from Defy the Stars (Constellation, #1)… He’s just so hilarious because since he’s an A.I., he has literally no social skills whatsover. I mean, who else would say outrageous things such as this?

“We’ll have to devise another means of income.”
“How?”
“At this point, our swiftest and more reliable means of making money is prostitution.”
“You–you didn’t just say– you think I should become a prostitute?”
“Of course not. You’re my commander. I serve you. Therefore, I would be the more logical choice to take on sex work.”

“Abel, I can’t let you.. sell your body.”
“The transaction is closer to a rental.”

Most beautifully written book read in 2017?

30763950

A Million Junes by Emily Henry

I’m sorry but this is the only valid answer for this question.

Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2017?

32191677

American Fire: Love, Arson, and Life in a Vanishing Land by Monica Hesse

I don’t read as much nonfiction as I used to, but this one was a really great read. I thought Hesse did a great job showcasing how a dying community reacts to a series of arson attacks, mixing socio-economic history with a true crime investigation.

Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2017 to finally read?

23299512

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity, #1) by Victoria Schwab

I actually thought this was going to be a boring book and so I put it off for over a year. Hahahahaha… I am such an idiot. How could I have ever thought that?

Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2017?

“For what matters in life is not whether we receive a round of applause; what matters is whether we have the courage to venture forth despite the uncertainty of acclaim.”

– Amor Towles, A Gentleman in Moscow

Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2017?

Shortest: The Wicked & The Divine, Vol 1: The Faust Act – 144 pages

Book That Shocked You The Most

32075662

Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2) by Victoria Schwab

YOU KNOW WHY!!!!!!

OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)

Lord Carlston and Lady Helen from The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen, #1) by Alison Goodman… So much angst and I’m totally here for it. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife!

Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

Arsinoe and Jules’ friendship in One Dark Throne (Three Dark Crowns, #2) by Kendare Blake… These two are just the absolute greatest. I love that we’re finally starting to get more YA novels with great female friendships. Yay, sisterhood!

Favorite Book You Read in 2017 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

25067046

Lost Stars (Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens) by Claudia Gray

I’m just obsessed with Claudia Gray and wanted to showcase a different novel of hers other than Defy the Stars. Seriously, she writes such awesome science fiction and is definitely an auto-buy author for me.

Best Book You Read In 2017 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure

Ummmm…. I don’t really think I read any books last year based on peer pressure. I get recommended lots of books that I’m usually already interested in.

Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2017?

Because I can’t pick just one…. Lord Carlston from The Dark Days Club, Abel from Defy the Stars, and Matthias from Six of Crows

Best 2017 debut you read?

22752127

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

17199504

The Bone Season (The Bone Season, #1) by Samantha Shannon

This series is just so, so, so good. Shannon has created this new dystopian/fantasy setting of London. I’m obsessed with this world and this story.

Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

11235712

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer

This is such a well-known and beloved series already, that I’m sure you all know and agree with how fun it is. It’s a nonstop thrill ride from start to finish.

Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2017?

23766634

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas

Yes, I did cry… A lot. I’m not ashamed to admit that I did either. Books make cry all of the time, alright?!

Hidden Gem Of The Year?

21843165

Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto

This book was just so much fun to read. It’s a mash up of western/fantasy/steampunk/historical fiction, and just so underrated. I wish more people would pick it up!

Book That Crushed Your Soul?

22299763

Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo

Leigh Bardugo, I will NEVER forgive you for that!!!

Most Unique Book You Read In 2017?

29631300

The Architect of Song (Haunted Hearts Legacy, #1) by A.G. Howard

I loved Howard’s Splintered Trilogy, so I should’ve known she would be able to create such a unique setting but I was still blown away by this story. I don’t even know why I haven’t read its sequel yet! It was so good!

Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?

32682118

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

Teenagers can be such little idiots sometimes.

What book crushed your soul in 2017? Was a hidden gem for you? Most unique? Do you agree or disagree with any of my choices?

The Goodreads Book Tag

Big thanks to Meredith @ All Bout Them Books and Stuff for tagging me to do this one! I mean, who else thinks Goodreads is there most favorite website?!

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

29939390

I read this one over the weekend, after falling in love with Truthwitch. However, I was a little disappointed with this sequel. I had really high hopes for Windwitch, but it just did not live up to them at all. I felt like there were way too many POVs and honestly, this book was pretty forgettable. Luckily, the ending gives me hope that the next book will be a return to form.

What are you currently reading?

28818314

Y’all, I never thought I’d say this about an A.G. Howard novel, but I’m reallyyyy considering DNFing this one for now and maybe trying it again some other time. I don’t know if I’m just not in the mood for this type of story or what, but RoseBlood just isn’t working for me. It’s fairly boring and I don’t really care for any of the characters. I hope I’m not going into a reading slump!

What was the last book you marked as TBR?

30237061

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody. I saw this going around on Twitter a lot recently and was intrigued. But when they released the cover the other day, I was immediately like, TAKE MY MONEY!!!

What book do you plan to read next?

25558608

I will finally, finallyyyy, be starting this book next. I’ve only had it since it first came out but have been pushing it aside because, (controversial opinion time!), I really don’t care for Helene and apparently she’s been added as a POV. Kill me now…

Do you use the star rating system?

I sure do.

Are you doing a 2017 Reading Challenge?

Yes, this year I have once again decided to set my goal at 100 books. I really think I can do it in 2017, I’m feeling good about it! Now watch me crash and burn thanks to a major reading slump a la summer 2016. Yuck!

Do you have a wishlist?

I do on BookOutlet, just because it’s easier to keep up with the books that I want rather than having to search every single time I go to place an order… EFFICIENCY!

What book do you plan to buy next?

29939230

Because, obviously! I was going to put Lillian Boxfish Takes A Walk since it’s the next selection for the book club I’m a member of, but I honestly don’t think that’s a book that I actually want to spend my money on so I’ll just borrow it from the library.

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

“He thinks he’ll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out.” – Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury

“Love. It was the beginning and end of everything, the foundation and the ceiling and the air in between.” – Kristin Hannah, The Nightingale

“And I wonder, in my last moments, if the planet does not mind that we wound her surface or pillage her bounty, because she knows we silly warm things are not even a breath in her cosmic life. We have grown and spread, and will rage and die. And when all that remains of us is our steel monuments and plastic idols, her winds will whisper, her sands will shift, and she will spin on and on, forgetting about the bold, hairless apes who thought they deserved immortality.” – Pierce Brown, Morning Star

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Who are your favorite authors?

All-Time Favorites: Pierce Brown, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, Diana Gabaldon, and Tahereh Mafi

New Favorites: Sarah J. Maas, Rae Carson, Holly Black, Erin Bowman, and Michelle Modesto

Hype or Like Friday – January 20th, 2017

Just another Hype or Like Friday! This meme and Goodreads group were created by myself, Jill @ Rant and Rave Books, and Britt @ Geronimo Reads. To join our group and find out more information about what it’s all about, please go to our Goodreads page HERE.

The January BOTM is The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner.

RULES:

  • Answer the weekly discussion topic.
  • Optional: Discuss your chosen hyped book of the week.
  • Optional: Talk about your progress on the BOTM.

TOPIC OF THE WEEK:  New Year’s Resolutions – What goals and resolutions have you set for this upcoming year in regards to reading or blogging? Maybe you’ve decided to try and double your reading goal from last year, maybe you plan to expand your reading horizons into non-fiction, or have planned to write more discussion blog posts?

Reading Goals

Last year I didn’t really set any real expectations or goals on myself. However, this year I decided to step up my game a bit and really focus on reaching some different goals that I’ve set in place for myself. And reading-wise…well, there’s a few of them.

  • Read More Non-Fiction – I think this one is fairly self-explanatory. I also see this as being a very strong possibility as I’ve already purchased Carrie Fisher’s memoir, The Princess Diarist. I actually plan to read it next month!
  • Complete My 2017 Reading Challenges – I am currently doing 3 different reading challenges this year – POPSUGAR, Beat the Backlist, and Goodreads. Last year did not go so well but this year, I reallyyyy plan to try and complete them all (or at least 2/3!). You can read about the different challenges in my original post HERE.
  • Finally Finish Middlemarch – Now this one may seem a little strange and random to some, but trust me, it’s a big deal. I’ve had this book now for almost 2 years and have actually started it at least 2 different times but about 10 pages into it, I put it down and picked up something else. It wasn’t that I was bored or anything, it just kind of happened. But this year?! Ohhh no, that baby will finally get read!

Blogging Goals

And now to the fun stuff! I don’t have too many blogging goals for this year, as I’m really focused more on just revamping my site. If you have any good tips, send them my way!

  • Redesign The Blog – That’s right, folks! At some point this year, I will be completely redesigning Wonderfilled Reads. I am thinking of hiring a graphic/web designer too, so if you know of any good ones that are reasonably priced or would like to do it free for their portfolio, please let me know!
  • More Discussion Posts – I’m sure y’all get tired of seeing the same meme posts on my site. I try to only stick to ones that deal with what I’m actually reading, but I know we all like to see a bit more variety sometimes. I vow to give you some in 2017!

Here’s praying that I can do it all!

5 Different Ways We Buy Books

If you’re like me, then when you find yourself out and about buying books, it becomes an adventure. There may be tears of joy, frustration, prolonged periods of intense staring as you have inner debates, and maybe even shouts of excitement because you finally found that really obscure book/edition that you’ve been searching for forever! Onlookers probably feel like they’re on safari watching us in our natural habitat. In short, when we bookworms buy books, it turns into one epic quest to Mordor to find the one book to rule them all.

And in honor of that journey, I decided to list just a few of the ways that we choose our books.

1. The Casual Multiple Hours Long Browsing Selection

This is probably my most common form of book buying when I’m not ordering online. I will literally spend hours just slowly making my way through all of the aisles, just taking my time and picking up anything that catches my eye. Also, the way that ends up with my wallet slapping me across the face and yelling at me about how I should be saving my money.

tumblr_nud983yfsr1qgayimo1_400

tumblr_nrrmjsrrd61rpk9exo2_500

2. The I-Only-Have-Enough-Money-For-One-Book Debate Selection

Don’t you just hate when you can only afford to get one book but you somehow have about 5 in your hands, and you can’t decide which one is the one you most want so you spend about 30 minutes in the aisle just staring at them all? Yeah, me too.

tumblr_nxm9j8vaug1uhmuomo1_500tumblr_nb4ywlxxar1s9362xo1_500.gif

tumblr_nl0hpoujyk1s8rz3mo1_500

3. The I’m-Only-Here-For-A-Specific-Book-So-Don’t-Look-At-Anything-Else Selection

We all know about those times when you are on a mission to get that one specific book, so you know that you can’t stop to look at anything else or you’ll end up going home with about 20 different books and not the one you originally came for. When I do this, I practically run down the aisles to where that book is going to be located. I must not be tempted!!!

4. The Finding-Books-That-Were-Recommended-By-Booktube/Bookstagram/Blogger Selection

Because of this great big wonderful book community, we are constantly getting recommended different books to read and buy. For me, these trips don’t always turn out so well…. I find the book and then I’m all like, what the hell am I doing because this book doesn’t really interest me at all?! This happens far more often than I wish it did.

5. The I’ve-Got-Unlimited-Funds-So-Give-Me-Everything! Selection

This is really just a dream scenario but it’s nice to have dreams though, right?

What are some ways that you buy your books? Do any of selection choices fit your usual book buying tendencies?

Musing Mondays – December 5th, 2016

Musing Mondays is a weekly theme, hosted by the lovely MizB @ Books and a Beat, that asks you to answer one of the prompt questions and that week’s random question.

PROMPTS:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) this past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Do you visit your local library regularly? If so, what’s your earliest memory of visiting a library?

I blogged about ____ this past week…

I don’t ever do monthly wrap-ups or weekly check-ins, so for this Musing Monday I decided to do a little recap of last week’s blog posts. I know you’re so excited, right?!

Also, because I made a vow to do more discussion and random fun posts – be on the lookout this week, as they will be finally coming! Yay!

Do you visit your local library regularly? If so, what’s your earliest memory of visiting a library?

I do visit my local library, though not very regularly as I have an insane book buying problem which leads me to pick up those books to read first. My local library is great though! I don’t really have an earliest memory of it because I only started going to it this past year. Crazy, right?! I can say that my mind was blown when I went the first time. I thought it would dead and kind of lame, but to my surprise, that place was hopping! I loved seeing how full it was and being surrounded by so many people sitting around reading, browsing the stacks, or doing work on their computers. That place just makes me so happy every time I go!

What did you blog about this week? Do you visit your local library? Does it make you as happy as mine makes me? Leave a link to your Musing Monday post in the comments below!

The Playlist Shuffle Tag

I haven’t done a tag in quite a while, so I thought today would be a good day for The Playlist Shuffle Tag. I decided to use my Soundtracks playlist on Spotify for this one because it’s what I listen to while I’m reading. Here’s some new tunes that y’all can listen to as you try and drown out all of those loud family members while you’re trying to read this holiday weekend! “TRY” being the key word, haha!

Thank you to Britt @ Geronimo Reads and Cindy @ The Book File for tagging me!

Rules:

  • List the first 10 songs that come on shuffle (no skipsies)
  • Then write your favourite lyric (or verse) from that song
  • Tag others
