 Book Choice: Red Rising

 

Fitchner – David Harbour

You know that you can’t disagree with him being the perfect person to pull of the drunk and grumpy mentor! I mean, he’s already played that part perfectly in Stranger Things.

 

 

Jenna Malone – Antonia

Yes, Jenna is a little on the older side for this character but I swear she hasn’t aged a bit and could definitely pull off an 18 year old bitch.

 

 

 

The Jackal – Bill Skarsgard

Okay, I’m kind of obsessed with Bill and while it hurts me to cast him as such a terrible person, there’s just no way better to be able to handle the kind of intensity that the Jackal has.

 

 

 

Eo – Sophie Turner

She just has this kind of softness to her that I think would fit perfectly with Eo.

 

 

 

Roque – Max Irons

Max just has that brooding poet look that is Roque to the very core. He also shares that same silent intensity that I think would work really well.

 

 

 

Titus – Alexander Ludwig

I honestly thought about casting him as Darrow but he’s just such a big guy, that he is almost too perfect as Titus. If you watch Vikings then you’ll know what I mean.

 

 

Darrow – Liam Hemsworth

That’s right, I went there! Honestly, he has the look of Darrow and has that kind of tortured brooding look that I think would work well for Darrow. I also think that it’s time that he steps up into a more demanding role.

 

 

Mustang – Saoirse Ronan

Okay, this was probably the hardest character to cast but once I realized that Mustang isn’t a fighter but a strategist and politician, I knew that Saoirse would be able to portray her perfectly.

 

Sevro – Taron Egerton

If you’ve seen Kingsman, then you’ll know that Taron can definitely pull off the craziness that is Sevro. He’d just be really good at bringing in that extra bit of comedy to the character. He’s also on the smaller side, which is a really big part of Sevro’s character.

 

 

Cassius – Jeremy Irvine

Cassius is supposed to be a fun pretty boy, but also one that is serious about loyalty and doing what he believes is the right thing. I think Jeremy could really pull off both of those sides.

 

 

I cannot tell you how hard it was to try and cast this book. Seriously, I spent over two hours trying to find the perfect actors to portray these amazing and iconic characters.
