The Three W’s are:

- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
- Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero – physical book
- A Face Like Glass by Frances Hardinge – audiobook
I’m almost finished with Meddling Kids, probably by tonight actually. While the cover is what originally caught my eye, this book has turned into such an entertaining read! If you’re a big Scooby Doo fan and find yourself wondering what might’ve happened to the gang once they grew up, you’ll love this. It is an adult horror retelling so be aware that it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. Also, the image doesn’t do the cover justice – it’s so vibrant and gorgeous up against the white background. Cover porn, for sure!
I’m still listening to A Face Like Glass and am only about a fourth of the way through it. This is a really long audiobook and it’s been a little hard for me to focus on while listening to it at work. It’s very strange and whimsical, which requires a bit more attention than I’ve been able to give lately. Hopefully things will slow down so I can get back to it!
What did you recently finish reading?
Artemis Awakening (Artemis Awakening, #1) by Jane Lindskold – 3/5 stars, REVIEW
This book was purchased on a whim from BookOutlet, but luckily it turned out entertaining enough to validate spending the money on it. I do own the sequel and plan on getting to it in the next couple of months.
What do you think you’ll read next?
- One Dark Throne (One Dark Crown, #2) by Kendare Blake
- One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
The next book I plan to pick up is going to be One Dark Throne. The first book in the series was alright, but I loved the cliffhanger it ended on and so I can’t wait to see where the story goes next. Then for my first read to start off the Halloween Readathon, I decided to go with One of Us is Lying. Sounds like such a page-turner!
What are you currently reading? Did you finish any good books this past week? What books do you have planned on your TBR? Are you participating in the Halloween Readathon? Leave a link to your WWW Wednesday post in the comments below!
Meddling Kids looks awesome! I haven’t read the Kendare Blake series, but I’ve been meaning to pick it up. I’m mostly waiting to see how people will respond to the sequel. :p Happy reading!

Thank you! Yeah, it’s definitely a fun book. The writing takes a bit to get used to it, but it just adds to the overall story!.. That seems like a good idea!

I absolutely love the sound of Meddling Kids but I’m wondering whether I really want to know what there up to or if would be better to use my own imagination. By now they must be in an old folks home surely 😂
I’ve got the first book in One Dark Crown but have been wary as the reviews seemed lukewarm. I might wait to see how everyone gets on with book 2

Haha! Well if it makes you feel better, it’s not actually the same kids. Basically more of a retelling inspired by the original tv show. It’s a lot of fun!
Yeah, I can totally understand that. I’m hoping this second book actually dives more into the action and gets even darker!

Yeah the cliffhanger got me hooked for three dark crowns too. And I definitely want to read one of us is lying too!!

I know! I know a lot of people had figured out the twist but I wasn’t prepared for it at all… I think One of Us is Lying might be the book I’m most interested in starting. It sounds like perfect October book!

I really liked A Face Like Glass, but I agree that a lot of it is atmospheric. It’s not necessarily as plot-driver as a lot of readers have come to expect, especially from YA.

Yes, that’s exactly it! While I’m really enjoying the story so far, I think it’s one that you should probably read rather than listen to the audiobook version.
