The Architect of Song (Haunted Hearts Legacy, #1) by A.G. Howard
My spirit plummeted at the reminder of Mama’s absence. I could only imagine what styles of dress a man of his class would prefer for his charity bride: restrictive corsetry that would bend even the most rigid spine … crinoline and bustles so wide a pregnant donkey could take refuge beneath them. I was fortunate to still be wearing black or I might’ve fallen victim to his deviant artist’s brush, prancing about in experimental rainbows like his servants.

So far I am loving this book! Howard is the best at writing gothic style books. Her prose is beautiful and touching, bringing the social constraints of the Victorian Age to life. Seriously, she can do no wrong. She will always be an auto-buy author for me. And how excited are y’all for RoseBlood to be released later this month?!
Have you read The Architect of Song yet? Have you read any of Howard’s other novels, like the Splintered Trilogy? Leave a link to your Teaser Tuesday in the comments below!
“crinoline and bustles so wide a pregnant donkey could take refuge beneath them”
That line got me! I smirked. And what’s this about servants running around in rainbows? lol

Haha! That’s why I chose this part! It made me laugh out loud and then I started picturing a donkey trying to hide under some girls dress lol… One of the characters dresses in very bright and strange color combinations like lime green, red, and silver. 😂
