Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor

This book is mainly set in Prague, and for those of you who might not have known this about me, I lived in that gorgeous city for a year. When I think of Prague, I think of cold winter nights filled with lots of spiced hot wine! And what’s a more yummy holiday drink than spiced hot wine?! If you have never been to Prague, I totally recommend you adding it to your list of places to go. It’s got amazing architecture, lots of history, and some really awesome nightlife (Say hi to Lucerna for me!). So yeah, I would definitely recommend reading this book during the cold winter months, while sipping some really delicious mulled wine. Who’s with me?!

What book and holiday food or drink would you pair together? Have you read the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy? What are your thoughts on it? Leave a link to your Hype or Like Friday post in the comments!

  1. You’re talking about wine on a Friday!!! This post made me ready lol. I actually want to visit Prague, after reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone and seeing photos of Prague whilst reading it, I fell in love. Great post =)

  2. I just looked up Prague (just to see what it looks like) and the first thing that popped up in the news was Justin Bieber being pantsed by crazed fans in Prague lol. But that aside, the city looks absolutely beautiful!

  3. Yes, I knew this about you! Yay! I didn’t know about hot wine though. That sounds very unappetizing. Well, I’m allergic to wine, so don’t listen to me. What do I know? Haha! Cool fact though. I never heard of hot wine. I sound so uncultured. Lol

  4. I love hot spiced wine, it makes me think of the German Christmas markets! 😀 It’s definitely a great combination, especially for the first part of this book since I LOVED the Prague setting. The romance in the second half basically ruined this story for me though, which is such a shame because the first part was brilliant.

      1. It’s definitely one of the things I miss of not longer living in Europe… Somehow celebrating Christmas in the middle of summer just doesn’t feel right. 😉 I actually haven’t read the DOSAB sequels yet because the second half of the first book was such a disappointment for me… I probably will at some point though
