WWW Wednesday – October 19th, 2016

Welcome to WWW Wednesday which is currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s really just a place to do little update on what all you’ve been reading lately. Anyone is welcome to join, just leave a link to your post in the comments and be sure to give the appropriate credit to Sam!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) by Sarah J. Maas

I’m super close to finishing this book, possibly even by tonight. It’s been a pretty fun read, as has been the entire series so far. However, I really think Maas could’ve left out about 100 pages and still been alright. There is a bit of a lull in the book that is causing me to read this slower than I was expecting to.

What did you recently finish reading?

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas

Half Wild (Half Bad Trilogy, #2) &  Half Lost (Half Bad Trilogy, #3) by Sally Green

I really enjoyed both of these book. I feel like CoM has been the best book in the Throne of Glass series so far, but there is still plenty of time for that to change. And I really enjoyed the way Half Lost wrapped up the trilogy. It was heartbreaking and beautiful, which I think was perfect for matching the darker tone of the entire series. Look for these reviews to be posted over the next few days!

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Midnight Star (The Young Elites, #3) by Marie Lu

A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir

I figured I’d take a little break from Calaena before diving back into the Throne of Glass series and catch up on some of the other series I’m in the middle of. I’m so excited to get to The Midnight Star and see how Adelina’s story ends. She’s probably one of my favorite antiheroes ever. I’m a little less excited about A Torch Against the Night, as I wasn’t as impressed with the first book as most people were. It was a bit boring (sorry!) overall, but was saved by a pretty exciting ending.

What does your WWW Wednesday look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? What are your thoughts on them? Is A Torch Against the Night better than An Ember in the Ashes? Do you think The Midnight Star wrapped up The Young Elites trilogy well?

  1. I loved Crown Of Midnight way more than Throne Of Glass, it’s the only reason why I continued with the series. I have An Ember In The Ashes on my more immediate TBR but I’ve heard many mixed reviews so we’ll see where I fall in the spectrum. Midnight Star truly is stunning though, enjoy your reads 💕

  2. That’s pretty much how I felt about An Ember in the Ashes too. I’m going to get the sequel from the library soon. I don’t want to buy it just in case it’s disappointing! 🙂
Heir of Fire is possibly my least favourite of the Throne of Glass series (tied with book 5). Crown of Midnight is still my favourite!

Thanks for visiting my WWW earlier (https://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2016/10/19/www-wednesday-19th-october-2016/) and happy reading!

    1. Yeah, I probably shouldn’t have bought this one but I already owned the first one so at least I’ll have the set to give away if I don’t like it haha!
Yeah, Heir of Fire started a little slow but I’ve got about 100 pages left and it’s really amped up now!

  3. Crown Of Midnight is my absolute Throne Of Glass favorite as well… I think the more recent book all have too many pages (and I’m not talking about book five which was a mayor disappointment). I really have to start the Half Bad and Young Elites series soon! I hope you will enjoy your books this week and happy reading.

      1. I still enjoyed the fourth book, but the fifth book was basically a whole lot of blah for me (the characters seemed like a bunch of horny teenagers in that one). Fingers crossed you will like them better though!

      2. That might just be it… I enjoyed the first ACOTAR book, but I’ve put the series on hold until more books are published. Besides, I’m having the feeling romance will ruin that series at some point as well… Sigh
