WWW Wednesday (On a Thursday?!) – August 4th, 2016

Welcome to WWW Wednesday which is currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s really just a place to do little update on what all you’ve been reading lately. Anyone is welcome to join, just leave a link to your post in the comments!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading…

A Gathering of Shadows Final

A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2) by V.E. Schwab

Okay, I’ve only got about 40 pages left in this book and I AM DYYYYYYING!!!! So, so, so much better than the first book. Lila is still getting on my nerves occasionally, but she’s definitely a much more interesting character this go around I think. Also, whoever designed the covers for this series is a damn genius. They’re amazing and I just don’t think you can argue otherwise. I mean, have you seen the cover for the final installment? P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N.

Recently Finished…

Well nothing in the past week, thanks to being out of town over the weekend and then suffering from a migraine for two days. But you can check out last week’s post HERE to see my most recent reads. Also, be on the lookout for my review of A Court of Mist and Fury tomorrow!

Reading Next…

These will be coming next as I finally dive into Stand-Alone August. I mean, my God, I’m only 5 days behind schedule already. Wayyyyy to go, Larkin!… NOT. But anyways, you can read all about my crazy TBR for the month of August HERE. And yes, I do realize it’s insane and makes no sense. And no, I’m not a crazy person.

What do you think about my WWW Wednesday selections? What’s your WWW Wednesday look like? Leave a link to your post in the comments or just leave a comment answering the questions!

    1. Haha that’s how I felt too, but I just couldn’t put it down!!.. Yeah, I’m pretty excited about The Force Awakens because apparently it answers some questions that the movie didn’t. And as a super Star Wars need, I’m just excited in general lol. 😂

  1. Two thumbs up for My Lady Jane! I plan to read that this month after receiving a copy from OwlCrate. Oh, and I signed up for Fairy Loot. Have you tried that box before? The September theme is magic. I’m super pumped about that one. 🤗 You’re making me want to start ADSOM with this glowing review of the second book. When does the last book come out? I’m thinking about waiting and reading them all in one shot. I still haven’t finished the Red Rising books. I’m like the queen of half finished series this summer. I did the same thing with Splintered. 🙈

    1. No, I haven’t tried Fairy Loot yet but I think I’m going to subscribe to it and restart my subscription to Owlcrate as well… You really really should read it! ADSOM was good but I didn’t find it as amazing as some people did (was a bit slow for a while). But AGOS is a whole other level, simply amazing. I believe the next book is supposed to be released in the spring sometime… Hahaha me too! That’s what I’ll be reading all next month. I actually bought all of the books for Throne of Glass, Remnant Chronicles, and Winner’s Curse today in preparation. I still need to finish Lunar Chronicles, Half-Bad trilogy, and sooo many other series too. I just need to write out a list of what I’ve started but need to finish. It’s going to be so damn long!.. And you need to finished Splintered. The last one is reallyyyy good!

      1. I like getting the boxes in the mail. It’s fun! 🙂 I better check it out then. The magic systems sound pretty cool in that book. I’ve wanted to read Six of Crows. I saw a bunch of good reviews for that over the past week. Wow, you also have a lot of series reading to do. I swear that’s all I own are series. I also own Half Bad and that Dorothy book and some Alice and Peter Pan retellings. Not to mention all the ARCs. I can’t read fast enough. I was thinking I’d write less posts this month’s and read more. I read one chapter of ToG so far. I finished It Ends With Us last night. That was an awesome book if you like CoHo. I’m about to finish another book called Far Away From You that’s sort of like the YA version of The Sister. My second mystery novel in one week. Go figure! I’m kind of on a marathon this week. I’ve already read 4 books since last week. Crazy. And I’ll probably finish the 5th one tomorrow. I definitely want to finish Splintered and Red Rising by the end of the summer. 🤗

      2. I’ve never read any of Colleen Hoover’s books as I’m not really a fan of contemporary. I tend to not pick up those types of books as they just don’t really appeal to me for the most part, though there are the exceptions… And yeah, I’ve got tonssss of series to catch up on. It’s so daunting to even think about lol. I’ve got Six of Crows but I haven’t read it yet. Im going to wait to read it when the sequel gets here since I went ahead and preordered it. 😁

      3. That’s a good idea. I’m trying not to read too many series until I finish the ones I started. This weekend I plan to read a lot. I drove down to the beach house so I can just chill and read. 🙂 I have so many books I want to buy. I need to read the ones I have first. 😂

  2. Great post!! And YES AGOS😍😍 although, let’s be real, the ending completely destroyed me. Left me in pieces on the floor. *sigh* and my answers… I’m currently reading Illuminae and The Secret Life of Bees, the last book I finished was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and I’m hoping to pick up either An Ember in the Ashes, Ruin and Rising, or The Raven King next!😊

    1. Thank you so much! And yes, that ending is killing me right now. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!… Oh, I absolutely loveeee Illuminae! I really hope you’re enjoying it. I also enjoyed An Ember in the Ashes but wasn’t blown away by it like a lot of people were. I’m looking forward to seeing how the second book turns out. Happy reading! 🙂
