So I came across this tag on Riley Marie’s Booktube and thought that looks like a lot of fun to do, especially if you’re like me and have an insanely huge TBR pile with plenty of options to choose from. Which, if you’re a bookworm, then you totally have this same problem. I’m only using books that I actually already own but just haven’t read yet for this one but you can do it however you like.
Let’s get to it!
A Book You Were Unable to Finish
My boyfriend gave me his copy that includes all 4 parts, or books, in this series. I made it through the first two before I had to just stop. I don’t find Adams funny. I felt like he was trying way too hard to be silly and outrageous, which is something I’d normally be entertained by. But with this one, I just wasn’t. I hope to finish the series in the future and see if my opinion of it will change with time. I’m not holding my breath.
A Book You’ve Yet to Read Because You Just Haven’t Had the Time
I might be cheating here since this is actually a series. I own the first 3 but I haven’t really had the time to just jump into a long commitment. Instead, I spend all of my time reading other novels because that’s the crazy type of person that I am. But I’llpersevere and get to these beauties soon I’m sure.
A Book That You Haven’t Read Yet Because It’s a Sequel
I plan on reading this soon but I keep putting it off because I have a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth from Lila. She got better at the end but not enough to move this one to the top of the pile. Now if Kell were the only MC then I’d have no problem reading it.
A Book You Haven’t Read Yet Because It’s Brand New
Yeah, this one got pushed off since it’s the start of a series and was just released recently.
A Book You Haven’t Read Yet Because of Another Book by the Author
I don’t actually have one for this but I guess you could count A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab for this too.
A Book You Haven’t Read Yet Because You Just Haven’t Been in the Mood
I’m gonna have to psych myself up for this one. I just haven’t been in the mood to pick up this dense novel by George Eliot and I even bought it back in August.
A Book You Haven’t Read Yet Because It’s Just Humungous
I’ve loved this series so far but I just don’t really want to tackle this one. It’s so dense and I am just not in the mindset to deal with that damn annoying Brianna for 800 pages. Seriously, I just want to get back to the focus on Jamie and Claire, not their daughter who I want to punch in the face the whole time. I know that sounds mean but she’s an awful character!
A Book I Haven’t Read Yet Because It Was a Cover Buy and Then You Heard Bad Reviews About It
Luckily, this one is our BOTM for Hype or Like so I’ll actually end up reading it. I know some people like it but I’ve just seen an overwhelming number say it’s extremely boring. Kill me now.
The Most Intimidating Book on You TBR
I’m not actually intimidate by this book, it just happens to be the biggest TBR book that I currently own. Once I buy the Mistborn trilogy then that’ll probably change. But yeah, this is a massive novel. I mean the book itself is just so hefty!
I tag whoever wants to do this!
Do you see any books on my list that you think I need to read next? Are any of these on your TBR? What are your opinions on them if you’ve read any?
About halfway through Passenger now and I’m enjoying it, definitely not as bad as some of the reviews I’ve seen

Okay, that makes me feel better about it now!

Hah, I don’t think I’ll ever be i the mood to read Middlemarch. It’s been sitting on my shelves for years!
Lady Midnight does look intimidating. I have only read a handful of books over 700 pages. That’s too much of a time commitment for a slow reader like myself.

Haha I think I’ve picked it up for about 10 pages at least twice since I’ve bought it but I just wasn’t in the mood to tackle it.
Yeah, big books don’t bother me a whole lot if I’m really interested in them. I think I was more surprised than anything to see how big Lady Midnight was when it was released. It’s bigger than my Outlander series books and they’re pretty dense reads themselves!

I’ve been dreading Passenger, too. It seems like it would be so boring. Even the synopsis wasn’t exactly screaming, you need to read this! I’ll probably wait until last minute to knock this one out for our BOTM. I hope we read Truthwitch or Young Elites next month. I think I’ll try this tag. I have so many books on my kindle I’m still deciding on. Nice post!

Yeah, I think next we will need a really action packed book if we want people to stick with our group lol! Can’t wait to see your choices!

So far, Winner’s Circle is winning in the polls, and I haven’t heard good things about it. Maybe we should switch to something a little more intriguing for next month.

Really? I’ve heard good things!

Every single blog review I’ve read said the characters are underdeveloped, the world building is not very good, and that the MC is whiny and sort of aloof. That makes me nervous because TWC has been in the lead since I posted the poll.I don’t think we’ve had any new votes though because the phone app doesn’t show you all the stuff on the homepage.

Oh, well if it wins then it wins and we’ll just move on to the next month. It’ll be fine!

I actually loved Passenger. It was such an interesting world. The storyline is only a little slow in the beginning but it get’s better around halfway through!

Kirsty’s reading it right now and says she’s enjoying it! Maybe we are focusing too much on the haters, haha.

I haven’t read Passangers yet. I heard mixed things about it, I may read it once I have the time. Firstlife is on my TBR.

Firstlife is on my TBR too. I’m also nervous about Passenger because I absolutely loved The Darkest Minds series also I find the size quiet intimidating, haha. I think I might do this one because my TBR is actually insane.

Yeah, I’ve pushed FirstLife towards the end of my TBR list but it’s intriguing me so much that I might have to bump it up… Yeah, it’s much heftier than I thought it would be. And you should totally do this tag! π

I started Passenger last night, I find it a bit slow, and pirates and boats aren’t my thing so it doesnt help. But I’m only on page 44 so I’m hoping for the story to kick off soon.

Well I hope it gets better for you! Don’t push yourself to read it though if you’re not enjoying it. You can always just label it a “hype”! π

I always feel guilty if I give up on a book too fast, so I’m gonna try again this weekend, and throw it in the ocean if pirates reappear, haha!

I know the feeling! Just do what works for you! Hopefully you’ll enjoy what everyone votes on for next month’s BOTM!

Wait, Passenger has bad reviews? Really? I’ve only heard good things about it so far haha. Maybe I’ve been looking at the wrong reviews. π

Haha! I’ve seen it get very mixed reviews, mostly the negative reviews are from some people who just found it really boring and insta-lovey I think.

That’s so upsetting tho! I feel like every time I want to pick up a book and get excited about it, I suddenly find out that a lot of people don’t like it, and I feel unsure about it. I think I should just start completely ignoring reviews. π

Even if I don’t like a book, I still encourage others to read it because we all have different tastes! I get a little unsure when it comes to how others review a book that I’ve been wanting to read, but I’ve seen tons of people hate on books that I REALLY enjoyed so I try not to let it get to me too much. I’m gonna read a book whether or not it gets bad reviews, it may put me off of it for a while but I’ll still pick it up. So you should definitely ignore them haha! π
