I’m gonna be honest, I’m not really sure who is hosting this genrethon exactly. I believe it’s a bunch of Booktubers but I can’t be entirely sure. I heard about it from my awesome friend, Britt @ Geronimo Reads, so thank you!
All you have to do is pick at least 3 different books in 3 different genres. However, if I can do more then that would be freaking fantastic and I’ll do a small victory dance, record it, then show it to y’all on my wrap-up post. Or not. We can just pretend that I’ll do that.
1. YA Western – Walk on Earth a Strange by Rae Carson
So I’m actually almost 50% done with this one but I think it’s only fair that it counts. And Britt says it does, so I’m counting it! Anyways, I’m really enjoying this book right now. Lee is a fun character, and I’m a little jealous of her survival skills. Though we do share one thing in common, we are both a terrific shot.
2. Dystopian/Alternate History – Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
Please, a book about the Great Library of Alexandria? Yeah, sounds wonderful. Books, on books, on books. A bookworms dream in one story.
3. Paranormal – Half Bad by Sally Green
Male witches. Yup.
Optional…
4. Fantasy – Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
I love the fact this book is about if Dorothy was a psychopath and all of Oz is trying to kill her. I’m only hoping that this lives up to being as cool in real life as it is in my head.
5. Contemporary – The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
I cannot wait to read this. I’ve been wanting to read it for years, ever since it first came out.
Anybody else participating in April Genrethon? Have you read any of these books? What did you think about them?
