Burn, Rewrite, or Reread Book Tag

I was tagged to do this by Dreamy Addictions & Books y Gel, so thank you! Everyone go check out their lovely blogs! I also realized I put the wrong name in the featured image. HAHAHAHAHA! It’s been a busy week…

Rules:

  • Randomly choose 3 books (Tip: Use the “Sort > Random” option on your Goodreads’ Read shelf.).
  • For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread (a lot like Kiss, Marry, Kill).
  • Repeat until you completed three rounds (or five).

Round 1

BURN: Life of Pi – Because this book totally sucked. It was sooooo boring! I don’t even remember if I even made it to the ending. Oops?

REWRITE: The Metamorphosis – This book wasn’t bad but I really wish the ending was a little bit different. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but if you’ve read it then you know what I mean!

REREAD: People of the Book – I can’t remember how this one ends but I do remember really enjoying it. It’s probably time for a reread then!

Round 2

BURN: P.S. I Love You – This book was nothing like the movie, and I don’t mean that in a good way. It was actually terrible. I didn’t enjoy it, nothing happened, it was just blah. Not Ahern’s best writing.

REWRITE: The Magician’s – Thank goodness that this series got better with each book. I would prefer if Grossman would’ve rewritten Quentin to not be such of a little whiney depressing bitch. Dude, man up! By God, he did in the final book but it would’ve been nice for him to have had a little growth in this book. You can read my full review HERE.

REREAD: City of Bones – Well I actually do plan on rereading this soon so I can finally go back and finish the series.

Round 3

BURN: The Selection – Kiera Cass is just not a very good writer. There I said it! Her writing is just so basic and there’s nothing to it. This series was entertaining and I read The Siren to see if she had grown any as a writer but nope, I will never read another book by her. I’m actually wanting to add her books to my next unhauling. If you’re interested in them then let me know and maybe we can work out a swap or something!

REWRITE: A Storm of Swords – Just too many different POVs and some of them add nothing to the overall story. When that happens, my eyes just glaze over. It can be a bit of a snooze fest in those instances.

REREAD: The Bone Season – I need to reread this one before I get the sequel, The Mime Order. I think I’m gonna have a month where I go through and reread all of my series that I need to finish. Yeah, that sounds good.

Round 4

BURN: Fifty Shades of Grey – I think that one just speaks for itself.

REWRITE: The Book of Life – The only reason this book is here is because I would just add to it because I didn’t want this series to end! Also, I think the ending was just a bit too easy with the plot twist. I was hoping for more of a bang.

REREAD: Clockwork Princess – Damn you, Cassandra Clare! That ending made me cry and then smile then cry some happy tears then get me all excited that I hadn’t finished TMI yet and then cry some more because this trilogy was over. ALL OF THE FEELS!!!!!!!

Round 5

BURN: Their Eyes Were Watching God – Yeah, I know this is supposed to be a classic and all of that. No, it was crap.

REWRITE: Definitely Dead – I will rewrite this entire series so that Sookie ends up with Eric. There is no excuse, that it the only acceptable ending!

REREAD: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – Yeah, I don’t remember what this series is about. It’s also added to my upcoming reread month because I don’t think I ever got to read the final book.

  1. Burn Fifty Shades of Garbage!! Ugh, that book is so frustrating and stupid. I still wonder how it ever made it to publication. And after all those years of picking up the new Sookie book on the day it was released, I couldn’t agree with you more. What a disappointment! I hid the last book so I never had to see it again. Haha!

    1. Hahahaha I will say this about Fifty Shades, it’s not any worse than any other dumb romance/erotic novel. It just happens to be much more popular… Ugh, I still can’t believe that happened at the end. I have to read it though and torture myself. 😂

  2. HAHAH I LIKE HOW U MESSED UP THE PICTURE AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT . YES THATS SO ME. I’m watching The Magicians series right now 😀 And I think its pretty book, I really want to start reading the books

  3. Haha! I didn’t love The Selection either. I read the first two books because I won them in a giveaway, but they were really not my thing. America is so unintelligent I found it painful people actually thought she should be a part of the government. :/

    1. Yeah, every character Cass writes come off very immature and don’t really act like the age they’re supposed to be. I mean if you’re looking for a fast fluff read then this series works, but that’s about all I can get out of it.

      1. Haha I actually finished the series and then I just felt nothing. Like I wasn’t sad that it was over or anything. This series is literally one big void in my reading life. It’s just there, haha!

  4. There are definitely a few that I agree with here (especially, City of Bones)! I have yet to read The Magicians, but I am really excited to read it soon (especially with the television series out now). I hope that Quentin doesn’t annoy me that much, ah. I hate characters like that haha.

  5. Ahh Mara Dyer is SO SO GOOD!! *shrieks* I need to read the third book..and I need to hurry up and do it before I completely forget what happened in the last too. ARghghgh. There are so many books I wish I had time to re-read. 😛
Also heh YES to rewriting ASoS. That whole series could do with editing, it really could…
    XD
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  6. Loved reading your answers! Definitely agree with you on Fifty shades of grey! That book was really disgusting and abusive. I haven’t read The selection series yet but I’ve seen so many people hating the mc in it. The unbecomming of mara Dyer is already in binge reading list and I hope I’ll get to it soon. 😀

    1. Thank you! I definitely encourage people to read books, even the ones I don’t really care for such as The Selection series. I know tons of people love it, so maybe you will too! Definitely read the Mara Dyer trilogy! 🙂
