Burn, Rewrite, or Reread Book Tag

I was tagged to do this by Dreamy Addictions & Books y Gel, so thank you! Everyone go check out their lovely blogs! I also realized I put the wrong name in the featured image. HAHAHAHAHA! It’s been a busy week…

Rules:

  • Randomly choose 3 books (Tip: Use the “Sort > Random” option on your Goodreads’ Read shelf.).
  • For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread (a lot like Kiss, Marry, Kill).
  • Repeat until you completed three rounds (or five).

Round 1

BURN: Life of Pi – Because this book totally sucked. It was sooooo boring! I don’t even remember if I even made it to the ending. Oops?

REWRITE: The Metamorphosis – This book wasn’t bad but I really wish the ending was a little bit different. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but if you’ve read it then you know what I mean!

REREAD: People of the Book – I can’t remember how this one ends but I do remember really enjoying it. It’s probably time for a reread then!

Round 2

BURN: P.S. I Love You – This book was nothing like the movie, and I don’t mean that in a good way. It was actually terrible. I didn’t enjoy it, nothing happened, it was just blah. Not Ahern’s best writing.

REWRITE: The Magician’s – Thank goodness that this series got better with each book. I would prefer if Grossman would’ve rewritten Quentin to not be such of a little whiney depressing bitch. Dude, man up! By God, he did in the final book but it would’ve been nice for him to have had a little growth in this book. You can read my full review HERE.

REREAD: City of Bones – Well I actually do plan on rereading this soon so I can finally go back and finish the series.

Round 3

BURN: The Selection – Kiera Cass is just not a very good writer. There I said it! Her writing is just so basic and there’s nothing to it. This series was entertaining and I read The Siren to see if she had grown any as a writer but nope, I will never read another book by her. I’m actually wanting to add her books to my next unhauling. If you’re interested in them then let me know and maybe we can work out a swap or something!

REWRITE: A Storm of Swords – Just too many different POVs and some of them add nothing to the overall story. When that happens, my eyes just glaze over. It can be a bit of a snooze fest in those instances.

REREAD: The Bone Season – I need to reread this one before I get the sequel, The Mime Order. I think I’m gonna have a month where I go through and reread all of my series that I need to finish. Yeah, that sounds good.

Round 4

BURN: Fifty Shades of Grey – I think that one just speaks for itself.

REWRITE: The Book of Life – The only reason this book is here is because I would just add to it because I didn’t want this series to end! Also, I think the ending was just a bit too easy with the plot twist. I was hoping for more of a bang.

REREAD: Clockwork Princess – Damn you, Cassandra Clare! That ending made me cry and then smile then cry some happy tears then get me all excited that I hadn’t finished TMI yet and then cry some more because this trilogy was over. ALL OF THE FEELS!!!!!!!

Round 5

BURN: Their Eyes Were Watching God – Yeah, I know this is supposed to be a classic and all of that. No, it was crap.

REWRITE: Definitely Dead – I will rewrite this entire series so that Sookie ends up with Eric. There is no excuse, that it the only acceptable ending!

REREAD: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer – Yeah, I don’t remember what this series is about. It’s also added to my upcoming reread month because I don’t think I ever got to read the final book.

WWW Wednesday – April 6th, 2016

Welcome to WWW Wednesday which is currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s really just a place to do little update on what all you’ve been reading lately. Anyone is welcome to join, just leave a link to your post in the comments!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading…

Physical Book

12000020

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

So yeah, I’m embarrassed to admit but I haven’t made any progress this week on this book. I’ve been in a kind of mini-slump and I was out of town yesterday and never had any time to read. I’ll hopefully have this finished by Friday though! Everyone raves about it!

NetGalley ARC Book

29224960

Ascension by Christopher De Sousa

I haven’t started on this book yet so I can’t really say anything about it. It’s gotten mediocre reviews so far on Goodreads so I’m interested in seeing how I feel about it. It may be one of those fantasy/paranormal novels with too many moving parts and plot holes. But we will just have to wait and see!

Recently Finished…

  • Vengeance Road – I absolutely loved this book. It was fun, full of revenge and a badass female MC. I definitely recommend it!! Full review HERE.
  • Nora & Kettle – If you’re friends with me on Goodreads, you’ll know that I had to DNF this book. It was beautifully written but my God, I could not get past the domestic violence. It was against two girls, one who was only 7 years old. It was just too depressing for me and I couldn’t get past it.
  • A Darker Shade of Magic – This was a good fantasy. I enjoyed it but I think it might be a tad overhyped, as it took a while for me to get into it and I didn’t really like Lila as a character. I’m interested in seeing how A Gathering of Shadows builds on this story and if it gets better!

Reading Next…

  • The Reflections of Queen Snow White – This one was sent to me by the author and I’m really interested in reading it! It’s a story about the later life of Snow White and how she handles her daughter marrying and being alone since her husband died. It’s a unique story and sounds really good!
  • Practical Applications for Multiverse Theory – A NetGalley ARC that just sounds like a fun science fiction/fantasy ride. It’s about a boy and girl who’s school begins to change once our dimension starts opening up and blending with all of the other dimensions, and teachers begin to turn into demons and the janitor becomes a sloth wearing a cowboy hat and chaps. Yes, I’m super excited to read this!
  • Ink and Bone – Big thanks to my library for having this one available. I’ve been wanting to read it for a while now and I finally get to. Hopefully it’s as good as I’m hoping, because hello, it’s all about the Alexandria Library! I like to pretend that it never actually burnt down and destroyed so much ancient writing. 😦
  • Walk on Earth a Stranger – I probably shouldn’t jump back into another Western YA after just finishing an amazing one, but hopefully it stands up to the pressure and expectations. We shall see!
  • The Other Side of Gravity – I actually don’t remember what this one is supposed to be about. Hopefully it’s not lame. Luckily, I got it for free from NetGalley so no pressure to enjoy it there!

As always, leave me a link so I can see what you’re reading or just leave it in the comments! Have you read any of the books I’ve got listed? Thoughts on them? It’s all welcome!
