Kiss Me, I’m Irish Book Tag

Big thanks to Joey @ Thoughts and Afterthoughts for tagging me to do this one! I know this was probably created for St. Patrick’s Day and it’s a little late for it but I don’t care. My family is Irish and Ireland is my absolute favorite place in the world and so I’m gonna do this!

This is the 100 year anniversary for the Easter Rising and so I dedicate this post to all of those who died for the freedom of Ireland!

Green: A Book With A Green Cover

Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon – It doesn’t get much greener than that. This wasn’t my favorite book in this series but it wasn’t bad either. I haven’t gotten around to reading The Fiery Cross yet and I’m not really looking forward to it because I really don’t like Brianna. Am I the only person who feels this way? I JUST WANT MORE JAMIE!

Blarney: A book that deceived you into either liking it or was overhyped and you ended up disliking it.

the-selection-series

The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass – Seriously, these were easy and entertaining books but sooooooooo overhyped. Kiera Cass just isn’t that great of an author, in my opinion.

Brogue (dialect): A book where one of the characters has an accent.

splintered-series

The Splintered Trilogy by A.G. Howard – My sweet, sweet, Morpheus… I just laugh picturing him speaking with his Cockney accent. That little devilish moth-man.

Leprechaun: A book you enjoyed when you were a little person.

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery – Yep, she’s back.

Pot of Gold: A book that cost you a lot or is of great value to you.

All The King’s Men by Robert Penn Warren – This is my photo of the book that my dad owns. It’s a special edition printed for The Franklin Library and is personally signed by the author. I honestly don’t know how many of this edition there are but I think it’s VERY limited. I haven’t looked up to see how much it’s worth but I can imagine that it’s really really valuable.

Four-leaf clover or shamrock: four leaves = more than one book. Pick your current or old favorite series.

all-souls-trilogy-deborah-harkness

The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness – This is an adult fantasy/paranormal fiction series that doesn’t get enough attention that it deserves in my personal opinion. It’s not super action packed but relies on crazy good world building, mystery, and a very interesting romance. I think the second book is probably my favorite, which is pretty unusual when it comes to series. It also operates on a pretty intelligent level as it gets deep into science, especially genetics, and the MC is a historian.

Magic: A book that you found magical or a book where you enjoyed a magic element that was found in the storyline.

3

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling – I just really want a magic wand from Olivander’s. That’s all there is to it.

Kiss: Your current favorite book pairing or your all time favorite book pairing.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – I read this book a few weeks ago and I still cannot get over how much I love Ezra & Kady. The more I think about this book, the more I become obsessed with those two. I really need Gemina right meow so I can see what happens to them! (And yes, that was a Super Troopers reference. Good catch!)

Luck: A book on your shelf that you will luckily get to… someday.

Zodiac (Zodiac, #1) by Romina Russell & Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas – So these have been sitting on my bookshelf for quite some time now but they keep getting pushed back because they’re both part of series and I’ve pushed all of my series to the end of my current TBR. I really cannot wait to read them but I’m on a new book buying ban until I finish my current 41 TBR books so I can’t buy the rest of the series until then. Let’s take a poll: How long do you think it’ll take for me to finish all of my current TBR books? I think I can get through them by mid-summer but I’ll have to really buckle down to do so.

Jig: A book that if you don’t currently own but if could get a hold of it- it would make you dance with joy. (Can be a book that isn’t released yet or a book you would really like to own)

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorn and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas – Okay, I will DEFINITELY by breaking my book buying ban the day this beauty is released. May 3rd needs to hurry the heck up and get here! I’m dying!

  1. Great answers! I really loved Anne of Green Gables too when I was a little kid and have been wanting to reread it to see if it’s different as an adult. I’m not a huge fan of Maas’s books but people tend to love it, so I hope you enjoy Throne of Glass too. The series can be addicting in a way only series can be, in my opinion. 🙂

    1. I need to reread Anne too! I’ve watched the miniseries sooo many times but I should probably read it again.. I kind of think it won’t live up to all of the hype but I really enjoyed ACOTAR so I’m gonna give it a shot and hope for the best!
