I was tagged a few days ago to do the TBR Book tag by Trisha @ The Bookgasm. Everyone go check out her beautiful blog! I feel bad that it’s taken me so long to get to this but I have so many tags to do right now and I am behind.
My TBR list is a little on the insane side, to say the least. If you’re my friend on Goodreads and have seen the list, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re not my friend on Goodreads, add me! 🙂 So yeah, this tag is perfect for me because I try not to look at my to-read list. I’m interested in seeing how this goes haha.
Let’s get to it!
1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Goodreads! It is a life saver if you’re like me and basically want to buy every book that you hear about but then when you get to the bookstore, you can’t remember what you came for in the first place. That’s when you get in to trouble and just start buying everything you see. Am I the only one who does that?
2. Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Print, for sure. I used to use my Kindle a whole bunch, especially when I lived in Prague, but I try not to anymore. I absolutely LOVE building my own library so I tend to buy all of my books as physical copies. However, I am using my Kindle app on my phone for some of current reads from NetGalley.
3. How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
Usually it goes by my mood. But I’ve joined a few book clubs and read-alongs on Goodreads and Instagram the past two months so now I have to read certain books first. I currently have two shelves full of TBR books in my bookcase right now so I want to make a TBR jar, that way I won’t have to agonize for an hour over which book to read next haha.
4. A book that has been on your TBR the longest?
And the winner on my to-read shelf on Goodreads is…. The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan!
I added this book the day I joined Goodreads, January 2nd, 2013. I can’t believe that I started this series and then never finished it. Probably should do that this year at some point!
5. A book you recently added to your TBR?
I just added these yesterday haha!
Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell and Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
Because Star Wars?! I’m sold. Even if I’m not the biggest Rowell fan. And a retelling of Wizard of Oz? Yup, I want it.
6. A book that’s strictly on your TBR because of the cover?
A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird #1) by Claudia Gray
A lot of people love this series but I don’t really know a lot about it. I just know that that cover is gorgeous and that’s enough for me.
7. A book on your TBR that you never planned on reading…
I always want to read a book at that moment if I add it to my TBR list. However, if I see it sometime at the bookstore or something and I know it’s been on my list, I may not be in the mood to buy it so I’ll pass on it. So I guess I don’t plan on reading it at that moment. I’m not even sure if that makes any sense haha!
8. A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you…
HA! Well where do you want me to start?
These are just a few but I would like to say, that I do own all of these but I just haven’t gotten around to reading them. There’s tons more but I’ll spare you.
9. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you…
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
Don’t worry, ya’ll! I have to read this book this month for a book club so I’ll finally get to see what they hype is all about!
10. A book on your TBR you are dying to read…
Cress (The Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer
I read the first two books in this series years ago but never finished them and I am dying to! Everyone raves about this series and say this one is their favorite.
11. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR?
Uhhhhhhhh… 368! Yeah, I know I’m crazy. It’s a lot. Please don’t judge me on this because I do try but I’m constantly adding to it. It’s a sickness that cannot be cured.

As always, feel free to do this tag or not do it. It’s up to you! 🙂
A Thousand Pieces of You is soooo good. I read it shortly after it first came out (tbh, I was mainly interested in it because of how beautiful its cover is) and I was surprised by how much I loved it! I still haven’t read the sequel though… BTW, I totally feel you on having an outrageous amount of books on your TBR. I probably have several hundred between my Goodreads, Amazon wishlist, and this notebook of books I started keeping around 7 years ago.

Yeah, it was definitely a cover buy for me because I’m not really sure what exactly it’s about haha!.. Oh good! I’m glad I’m not the only one who has such a high number. I actually cringe every time I see it because I know it’ll just keep getting larger haha.

hahaha I’ve just accepted at this point that I’m never getting around to all the books on my TBR and that it’s going to keep growing. At least I’ll never be at a loss for what to read next haha

That’s such a good way to look at it!

I share a lot the same books you do that it feels like everyone has read and I haven’t gotten around to yet. My coworker saw Me Before You on the screen and that sparked a whole conversation. It was great. I’m currently reading A Darker Shade of Magic and I’m really enjoying it! Cress was good. Definitely my favorite book so far.
Thanks for the tag! 😀

Hahah that’s awesome!.. I know, I feel so left out that I haven’t read those books yet. I’ll get to them someday though. You’re welcome! 🙂

I thought I had a lot books on my The, but you have double what I do! Lol
Sometimes I do clean up the list, though. Some books have been on it for years and eventually I realize that I will probably never read them, so I delete them. :s

That’s probably what I should do, so I may do a little spring cleaning to it soon haha! Great idea!

Literally #8 describes my life! Everyone’s always talking about ToG, SoC, The Raven Boys, and Red Queen! I still haven’t gotten to any of them yet. I own SoC, but I’m waiting till the summer to read it. Me Before You is on my March TBR though!

I am so glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read these! I feel bad because I own them, I just haven’t gotten around to them yet. But Me Before You is on my list for this month as well!

Thanks so much for the tag! 😀 I did this one a while ago, but since then my answers will have changed so I’m looking forward to doing it again 🙂 It’s also good for me cos I don’t tend to do posts about books I plan to read 😀 And Goodreads is a lifesaver!! Ah I haven’t read Kiss of Deception, Me Before You or Six of Crows *hangs head in shame* Ooh I didn’t know Kindred Spirits was about Star wars! Cress was my favourite- so it’s something to look forward to 🙂

Oh yeah, don’t feel like you have to do it unless you really want to!.. Don’t be ashamed that you haven’t read certain books! TBR lists are so hard to get through as it is haha… Yay, I need to just buy all of The Lunar Chronicles and have a binge read. I may do that once I finish all of my TBR shelf. If that ever happens. 😂

Oh no I definitely want to 🙂 It just might be a while- cos I’m totally disorganised and have loads of tags to do lol :p haha that’s just how I roll- I’m never satisfied with the number of books I’ve read! ooh yes- excellent plan! ahh that is also a good plan! I’m not buying anymore books till I’ve gone through the ones I own! (it’s not going great- I just keep going to the library more- plus bookshops are so tempting!)
