What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you want to read next?
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Yeah, I’m a bit of a latecomer to the #BardugoObsession but I am totally on the hype train now. Seriously, why did I let this series sit on my TBR shelf for so long?!
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
OK, so I didn’t “technically” finish this book in the sense that people normally are referring to when they say that they finished a book. For me, it means I read the first part and just didn’t care for it at all so I said I’m done and picked up Shadow and Bone instead. Yeah, my boyfriend absolutely loved this book and wanted me to read it, so I tried, I really tried. Let’s just say he’s not very happy with me because of it. I’m sorry Douglas Adams, but you are a try-hard.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Yes, I liked this book but it didn’t totally blow me away as it did for some people. I might’ve just been having a moment though, because I picked it up immediately after finishing Morning Star. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t over the ending of one of my favorite series ever. Instead of acknowledging I was having a book hangover, I just kept on trucking. Kind of like that time I was wayyyyy hungover from whiskey and decided to drink a massive Bloody Mary. Bad idea. You can find my full review HERE.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO READ NEXT?
All of These Books by Leigh Bardugo
Hahahahahaha come on now, you should have seen this coming. #BardugoObsession
See anything you like? See anything you don’t like? Let me know and leave a comment!
I felt the same way about An Ember in the Ashes. It was good but not incredible. I hope the sequel will be better.
The Grisha trilogy is good, but Six of Crows is BRILLIANT. Your latest obsession is leading you in the right direction! 😉

I’m so glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who felt that way about it! Everyone just keeps raving about it and I’m over here like, yeah it was a fun read. Haha!
I’m seriously loving it right now. I can’t wait to get to Six of Crows! It looks so pretty on my shelf that I catch myself just staring at it sometimes hahaha. I have a feeling it’s going to blow me away!

I’m reading Six of Crows right now. 🙂 I’ve got Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I hope you enjoy them! I’ll get to them soon. Honestly, I might have to start after Six of Crows. It’ll give me something to stave off my Leigh Bardugo need while I wait for Crooked Kingdom.

Thank you! I hope you enjoy Six of Crows as much as I’m looking forward to reading it! Bardugo is so awesome. I feel so silly that it’s taken this long for me to read her books.

Me too. I’ve had her books on my shelf for months just waiting to be read. So excited to finally start! Six of Crows is amazing so far. 🙂

I’m currently reading Six of Crows but did not read the Grisha trilogy. Lots of people say SoC is better, so I’ll probably leave it a while before I go back to the trilogy.

I’ve not read any of your choices this week. I’m not a fan of magical fantasy books but it’s still good to see what’s out there 🙂

Yeah, I’m usually a bit more varied with what I’m reading. And I honestly tried Hitchhiker’s Guide to mix it up a bit but it just didn’t work for me. My boyfriend said I just don’t get British humor but I told him that was not the problem because I love Father Ted. The problem is that Adams tries way too hard to be silly and was missing the mark.

Fair enough, it’s good to get out of your comfort zone every now and then!
I’ve never read Hitchhiker’s, hasn’t really appealed to me.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy ‘Hitchhiker.’ I thought the series was hilarious and read all of them! I’m on ‘Team Boyfriend.’ 🙂 Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

Hahaha I know, I know! I feel awful I didn’t enjoy it. It could be that it was just bad timing or something so I may try and finish it some other time.

I’ve actually had a vague notion to read hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy. I remember seeing the tv show many years ago. May not rush to read based on your thoughts.
Grisha trilogy is great but I thought the second book was the weakest. It is definitely still a good read though.

Oh no, definitely try it for yourself! I’m one of the very few people who didn’t care for it, most people seem to really enjoy it. Maybe it was just a timing thing or something for me.
I’m loving it so far! I think a few have people have mentioned that about the second book but as long as it ends well, I’m good. I hate it when authors wait and go ruin it with the last book in a series.
