The Three W’s:

What are you currently reading?  What did you finish reading recently?  What do you want to read next?

I’m Currently Reading…

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore

Okay, I’m actually a lot further behind in this book than I should be. I should’ve finished it already but it’s been a busy few days for me and I read like 0% this weekend. OOPS! But I am on page 239 and have literally laughed out loud at least once every other page. Seriously guys, this book is hilarious. Yes, you may feel a bit blasphemous reading it but that’s part of the fun! I, myself, like to think that Biff was a real person and that Jesus was able to have him as a best friend growing up. I know he could’ve used the entertainment.

What I Finished Recently…

Siren_BookCover

The Siren by Keira Cass

Well this was an easy, fun read for me. I finished it in less than 24 hours if that gives an idea of how easy it was. Cass certainly stepped up her writing game in this book and I think I enjoyed that part more than anything. The Siren is definitely a cute read and I recommend you trying it out. You can find my full review here.

 1408_SBR_MAGICIAN_COVER.jpg.CROP.original-original.jpg

The Magicians Trilogy by Lev Grossman

Definitely an adult version of Harry Potter, this trilogy is a bit heavy mentally. The characters are all selfish, self-absorbed, depressive 20 something-year-olds and they love to complain about everything. However, character development is a huge part of this series and is on par with the world building in terms of how wonderfully done it is. I highly recommend this series. Check out my full review here to see if it’s right for you.

What I Want to Read Next…

grisha-trilogy-1024x521

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

The bookstagram community loves this series and now that I have them all, I will finally sit down and read them. I really love a good fantasy series and am looking forward to these books. I hear there’s a love triangle in it as well and I am a sucker for those, though I tend to root for the wrong guy (I’m still bitter over Katniss picking Peeta).

The_Force_Awakens_novelization_final_cover

Star Wars: The Force Awakens by Alan Dean Foster

If you know me then you’ll know what an intense relationship I have with Star Wars. I LOVE IT. Seriously, our love runs deep. I was there front and center at 3:30am to watch the Star Wars Marathon showing on Opening Day for The Force Awakens, wearing my Star Wars t-shirt and bouncing up and down from excitement. We were in the cinema for 18 hours straight. Yes, I am a nerd. Which is why I’m a bit ashamed of myself that it’s taking me so long to read this book.

Honorable Mentions: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo , The Passenger by Alexandra Bracken , The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

  1. I’m glad you liked ‘The Magicians’ series. I listened to the first one on audio and it didn’t do it for me. I agree that they complained a lot and I couldn’t get over that. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

    1. I’m gonna start on them soon! I’m thinking maybe after I read Morning Star.. Hahaha I am the same way when it comes to things I need to do. It’s so tough being a bookworm. The TBR never seems to get any smaller. 😁
